PlayStation Plus Games for May 2022

Were you looking for free sports and action RPGs in your games library? If yes, you’d be glad to learn that PS Plus games for the Month of May include just those! Sony officially announced its PS Plus games lineup recently and it’s a fairly good one. Unlike most months, May’s game lineup was leaked by an insider before the month even began, and most gamers were quite thrilled about the games mentioned.

Over the years, many people have been mulling over whether the PS Plus subscription service is actually worth it or not. With the game lineups released by the service this and previous months, it would be safe to say that PS Plus does offer plenty of bang for your buck. So without further ado, let us discuss the PlayStation Plus games for May 2022

Curse of the Dead Gods

Curse of the Dead Gods is a fantastic single-player game for those who love skill-based games. While this is a PS4 game, it is just as enjoyable on the PS5 and looks just as good. With a Metacritic score of just over 79, curse of the Dead Gods is sure to provide hours of entertainment with plenty of puzzles, thrills, and fights.

Despite having a few decent competitors, EA sport’s FIFA games are undoubtedly the best football games out there. Subscription owners were quite surprised about reports suggesting that one of May’s free games could be FIFA 22. One of the reasons why people were surprised was that EA games are usually quite pricey and their newer games haven’t been available for free. This time around, however, EA surprised everyone and released their newest FIFA game on PlayStation’s premium subscription service.

FIFA has come under a fair bit of criticism after thousands, if not millions of people complained about its monetization and microtransaction programs. While these issues still exist, there is no denying that FIFA’s online and offline modes still remain the best in the gaming world. Many people believe that the decision to make FIFA free was made because EA plans to make FIFA free for all in the coming years. However, that still remains to be seen.

Tribes of Midgard

Tribes of Midgard is the perfect blend of ARPG, Norse mythology, and survival genres. Like FIFA 22, Tribes of Midgard also has solo and co-op modes. In this game, you play as a Norse character named Einhjerar who is brought back to life by none other than Odin. You can create a tribe of ten players or less and defend the Seed of Yggdrasil against evil forces.

While many gamers have drawn comparisons to games like Diablo, Tribe of Midgard still has plenty of elements that make it stand on its own and its Metacritic score of 71 proves it.

If this month’s PS Plus game releases are anything to go by, the subscription service’s future looks bright and may get thousands of more subscribers soon.
