playstation plus free gamesUnfortunately, Sony has failed to release March's PlayStation Plus free games, and Sony has released a small statement explaining why this has happened.

According to Sony's Fred Dutton in a new PlayStation blog post, they have not managed to finalize the lineup in time for March, and it may be a little while before they are given the go ahead to release the free PS Plus titles.

"I appreciate you're all really keen to see the line-up and that it's frustrating having to hang on a bit longer than usual. Alas, we're still not quite ready to make the announcement."

"I can't give you a firm time at present as to when the post will go live, but we're working to get it to you as soon as possible. It may well be next week at this stage."

By the sounds of things, it is looking unlikely that we'll see the free games lineup in the few days of March, and we may even have to wait till the second week of March before the games are live. This is unfortunate, but Sony does need to confirm six different games with up to six developers before they can go ahead with deals like this.

Whilst Sony has had a few hiccups this month, Xbox has already released their lineup, touting three great games, including Rayman Legends, Tomb Raider and Bioshock Infinite.

So far, we have no idea what games will be part of the PS Plus lineup, but as soon as we know we shall let you know.
