  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

The most anticipated game of the year; Modern Warfare 3 is the sequel to the MW2, widely considered to be the best first person shooting game of this generation. In a sense, the first time I picked up a Ps3 controller last year to play MW2 (I know I am still new to the COD series), I originally hated the game. I found it so hard to adjust from Counter Strike and Halo games where your enemies were so easily visible and the guns were so straightforward. The beauty of the love for Call of Duty though, is that it grows on you. After many months later, I currently dominate and thats being humble.

However, Black Ops is a much slower paced game than its predecessor MW2, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 looks to combine the best of both worlds. The faced paced gameplay of MW2 with the all the glorious customization that we have grown to love from Black Ops. With a revamped graphics engine and a story line that is essentially World War 3, MW3 looks breathtakingly good. One thing I know for sure about the Call of Duty series, is that it's never too late to jump in, so whether Black Ops made you mad for some reason, or you just havent been engrossed since the Halo days, I am here to make you one promise: this game WONT disappoint you. In fact, I am going to make the bold prediction that this game out does every other Call of Duty ever made. On November 8th, 2011 our world will be at war.

Also, I would highly recommend picking up one of our modded controllers specifically the stealth adjustable fast reload. The reason being is that this controller has saved me from death quite often as of late. That extra split second of time after reloading really makes a huge difference in tight situations. Dont forget it still comes with rapid fire and auto burst in addition to the fast reload. Cheers!

  • Double Points Weekend on Ps3

Well folks, its finally double points weekend again on Ps3 and for many of us, that means we will most likely be spending our last day on earth inside pwning noobs. Really with the impending rapture ahead of us this brings a whole new light to the phrase, Its not the end of the world! I really hope its not the end, I am still too young to die. However, after seeing what might have been the most absurd call of duty kill of all time last night from my friend Jon, I could at least rest easy. To describe what occurred, basically this guy was running up the stairs on Array, Jon fired 4 or 5 bullets out of his Aug and then switched to his python putting one bullet directly between this poor unsuspecting chumps eyes. It wasnt a difficult kill, it was just masterfully executed and equally humiliating to watch.

I wont be surprised if this weekend yields complete insanity, as everyone will be struggling to make up for that lost time due to the PlayStation Network outage. Indeed, I plan on doing lots of catching up, as I dont plan on letting my neighbors reach 15th prestige before me! Im 8th prestige going on 9th in one level, and they are in their mid 7th prestige. Im extremely excited about Modern Warfare 3 coming out later this year, and I am almost tempted to get readjusted to the good ol MW2, but alas I still havent gotten all the playing value Black Ops has to offer. Which is why I am praying to the gods that if we make it through this weekend and somehow to the release date of MW3, that it keeps elements of Black Ops in terms of customization factors and combines it with the gameplay style of MW2. Can you imagine that? That would truly be the ultimate Call of Duty. Thoughts?

  • News on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

The next installment in the Call of Duty series seems to be getting closer.

So looks like things are picking up for Activision and Infinity Ward, as they released a statement (you can find it here on Kotaku) that the next installment in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series will be pushing the envelope when it comes to what people expect. So knowing the series, they're going to go beyond the Michael Bay-like explosions and second-by-second action-filled storyline events, which is awesome.

The storyline is what I'm really fixated on. A lot of people call the story and plots of the previous Modern Warfares to be very intense and be of something that you would see out of a hit blockbuster action movie like "The Rock" or "Blackhawk Down", but that's what the consumer audience like you and me like. But in addition to its adrenaline pumping settings, there's a lot of complex story elements that make you listen closely to what everyone says or does. So knowing how the current storyline is, I do wonder what will happen to people like Pvt. Ramirez and Sgt. Foley. Lot of questions need to be answered. "What's Moscow like currently?" "Is other countries getting involved like China?" We will have to wait.

Going on to gameplay. When they said they were going to go beyond our expectations, it probably means they've been refining the MW2 engine or making a new one based on previous versions. Call of Duty redefined how and what an FPS should be, with the proof being other games mimicking them with success (like Medal of Honor).

They did release that there will be bigger maps and more interactive elements to the game. When they mean interactive elements, they mean things like more detailed destructive environments. So we can probably expect that it is possible to blow up debris and buildings if they get in our way. Seems the developers did their homework and research, taking a bit of the page from Battlefield's book.

Well more news about the next Call of Duty will be revealed at this year's E3. Until then, we will have to wait patiently until E3 or when Activision releases some more news about the game.
