THQ Nordic new trailer Darksiders 3 Darksiders action adventure

It has been 5 years since the last Darksiders game got a release. After a long wait, a Darksiders 3 trailer has hit the internet and everybody is getting very excited.

THQ Nordic has confirmed that Darksiders 3 will be making its way to the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC in 2018.

The THQ Nordic CEO, Lars Wingefors, mentioned that "As promised, we have taken our time to ensure that this next Darksiders will be everything action-adventure gamers and especially Darksiders loyalists could dream of and more."

In the past 5 years, action adventure games have evolved. In many thanks to the Dark Souls franchise, action adventure games have become one of the most grueling, difficult genres available - we're hoping THQ Nordic will take some inspiration from some of the latest and greatest games in the genre to re-imagine the Darksiders 3 franchise, while still sticking close to the series' roots.

Alongside the recent trailer, THQ Nordic has released some information about the background story for Darksiders 3. We have provided an excerpt below.

Return to an apocalyptic planet Earth in Darksiders III, a hack-n-slash action adventure where players take on the role of Fury in her quest to hunt down and dispose of the Seven Deadly Sins. The Charred Council calls upon Fury to battle from the heights of heaven down to the depths of hell in a quest to restore humanity and prove that she is the most powerful of the Horsemen. As a mage, Fury relies on her whip and magic to restore the balance between good and evil. The expansive, Darksiders III game world is presented as an open-ended, living, free-form planet Earth that is dilapidated by war and decay, and overrun by nature. Fury will move back and forth between environments to uncover secrets while advancing the Darksiders III story.
