Gears of War Game Bundle

2011 might be Gears of War's best year. A few months back Microsoft and Epic mentioned publicly that Gears of War 3 had been delayed, not out of necessity, but for marketing reasons. Microsoft wanted to give Gears of War 3 the Fall season of 2011 to push the franchise forward as well as to give the game additional time in the oven. Frustrating as it was for fans of Gears of War, it was also kind of nice to know that Microsoft was behind Epic's flagship series in a way that should ensure an incredibly polished title. A win win for everyone.

Well the marketing blitz for Gears of War has begun. Early adopters of Bulletstorm have already been promised early access to the Gears of War 3 Beta which we mentioned just last month. Now it turns out a Gears of War 1 and 2 might be re-released in one package, rumored to come out in February as well, just a week before Bulletstorm.

Bulletstorm comes out on February 22nd of next month, and on the 15th Gears of War Ultimate is scheduled for release. While what exactly Gears of War Ultimate will include is still unknown. It's a safe guess that Gears of War Ultimate will include both Gears of War 1 and Gears of War 2. Let's hope they include all of the DLC map packs to make it a bundle hard to resist. Unless of course, you already own the titles.

Gears of War Ultimate was originally spotted on GameStop's website with a scheduled release of February 15th. Microsoft themselves have also confirmed that while the product may not end up with that name officially, a Gears of War bundle SKU will in fact be released in February.
