far cry 4 dlcIt has been revealed that the first DLC of Far Cry 4 from Ubisoft will be released in January 13th. The new DLC pack has been named Escape from Durgesh Prison, and it will include a variety of new features.

For those that have purchased the $29.99 season pass, Escape from Durgesh Prison will be available for free, however other players will need to pay $9.99 to play through it. In Escape from Durgesh Prison, Far Cry protagonist Ajay Ghale will be partnered up with Hurk, a slightly mad veteran players may recognize from Far Cry 3.

As you can expect, players will need to try to escape a prison in the upcoming Far Cry 4 DLC, and this can be done solo or co-operatively with a friend or stranger online. So far, details are still on the low as far as length and story goes for the new DLC, but it has been confirmed that there will be a unique permadeath setting for the DLC.

When a player dies in Escape from Durgesh Prison, they will be forced to start again from the beginning, and the gameplay has been set out in a way that encourages players to learn how to get through each scenario successfully each and every time without dying.

Because of the permadeath feature I can't imagine Escape from Durgesh Prison will be that long if played without dying, but I also expect that it will take at least a few hours to perfect the DLC content without you or your friend being killed.
