Kratos to be performing Mortal Kombat Fatalities!

Could the God of War be the newest fatality performing combatant? Kratos has slain, decapitated, and mauled enough of his enemies that he would certain feel right at home in the Mortal Kombat universe, but is this just a Sony fanboy's dream or a reality?

As it turns out, this rumor could actually end up being true. David Jaffe, the creator of God of War has since posted the following message through his twitter @Twitter.com/davidscottjaffe:

"LOVE that Kratos is in the new MK. So bummed he's not in the story portion. Heard about it from Ed at E3 this year and had to keep super mum on it but man, ****ing LOVE it. He totally fits in that world. I **** you not - on some level I feel like all the characters I work on are alive and that I have a relationship with them and I can tell you, if I know Kratos- and I do!- he's ****ing LOVING his time in the MK Universe. I bet he makes a **** ton of friends there. He should pull Zeus in and ****ing leave his ass there!

Obviously Kratos would have to be an exclusive for the PS3 version of Mortal Kombat 9, but one has to wonder, what will the 360 version get, and what character can match the Mortal Kombat setting and the brutality of Kratos? While Master Chief would be a reasonable pick, he certainly doesn't fit as well in the depths of the underworld as he does in an action filled space epic. A better pick would be Marcus Fenix or a Locust from Gears of War, but do they have as much relevance?
