In a recent interview with Dengeki Online (a Japanese online magazine) that Resident Evil 4's zombies (despite they weren't really zombies...more like 75% zombies with free will) made him make Dead Rising because those "zombies" run. He stated that zombies shouldn't run...and why are they running since they're zombies.

"If I made my own [zombies]....there would be zombies like this."

~Keiji Inafune, Dead Rising producer

Keiji Inafune's Dead Rising zombies stay more to the true original Dawn of the Dead slow walking arms stretched out brain-dead walking piles of rotting flesh, unlike it's remake back in 2004 where they were running like participants in the Chicago marathon.

Thus continues the debate of "crazed running zombies" versus "deadpan walking around Walmart zombies".
