Gran Turismo 7 PS4 2014

Although the launch of Gran Turismo 6 won't even hit till the very end of 2013, the 7th game in the franchise may arrive in 2014, which is a very unusual schedule for Polyphony Digital.

Talking to Top Gear, Polyphony Digital's CEO Kazunori Yamauchi has revealed that the they would like to get Grand Turismo 7 out as soon as possible. Although Top Gear made an article with the title "Grand Turismo 7 is Coming in 2014" the truth of the matter is slightly different.

Kazunori said "We don't want to take too long on Gran Turismo 7. Best-case scenario? Next year. In GT6 we really had to tune the software 100 per cent to maximize the PS3's architecture, but of course the PS4's hardware is much better, so I think the overall quality of the game across the board will be boosted when you come to play it".

This does mean that if everything goes to plan, Gran Turismo 7 could be available for the PlayStation 4 as early as 2014, however, apart from performance increases and graphical quality, it's unlikely it will be much of a difference in gameplay from Gran Turismo 6.

In his interview, Kazunori Yamuachi didn't discuss anything about the game other than the fact that they hope to get it released soon, and that Forza 5 is a good competitor, despite Gran Turismo's very in-depth realistic racing and driving simulation.
