phantom pain multiplayer contentWhilst all of the video footage we've seen so far has shown off the extensive singleplayer experience for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, a new gameplay video that has just been released has a large portion showing off the multiplayer content within the game.

This is the first time the Metal Gear Solid V multiplayer portion of the game has been put online, so Kojima has been pretty excited to show fans what the new MGS game will offer players.

Metal Gear Solid IV managed to keep things refreshing by adding a enjoyable multiplayer game mode to the franchise for the first time, and this time round it looks like Kojima wants the multiplayer experience to be even more feature-filled.

In Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, players will be able to customize and equip their "mother base" with a range of different traps, rooms and military equipment. Once a mother base has been created, other players will have the ability to infiltrate the mother base.

We've heard about the mother base content before, but to make things even more interesting, just before the video ends, two players can be seen confronting one another, and at this point it's clear that there will be the chance for some interesting player versus player content within a mother base.

The release date for the Phantom Pain has not yet been confirmed, but it's likely to be some time between the holiday season this year and Q1 2015.
