Microsoft announces the Kinect will support the Halo Classic

While Microsoft is keeping a tight lip on the remake of Halo: Combat Evolved (which is to be released later on this year on November 15, 2011), they did drop a bit of news as the Halo anniversary remake will have Kinect Support. The Vice President of Microsoft's (Phil Spencer) told sources that the Kinect will be important to all genres of games from racing games (like Forza) to combat games (like the Halo Anniversary remake). That being said, we have an idea that all games will have Kinect integration.

Some doubt was made about Halo and it being integrated into the game. To answer those doubts, Microsoft added another statement to settle the doubts(that statement can be read here). While they won't tell us specifically what the game and Kinect will do together (like voice control, gesture control, etc.) they stated the support will not compromise the quality of the game.

They released the following:

"It's no surprise we're exploring ways Kinect can enhance game experiences in authentic and meaningful ways. The Kinect features we're exploring with 'Halo: Anniversary' are additive and will not affect the core gameplay experience or alter our mission of delivering a faithful recreation of the original game. That said we have nothing else to share just yet."

So with that being said, the Kinect will not interfere with your gameplay. This meaning while you are avoiding sniper fire in Blood Gulch in Capture the Flag, you won't need to flail your arms and legs like a mad man to dodge them. However this brings something to my mind. What does Microsoft have in store? Could it be something like what we saw with Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier at E3? If so, customizing the Needler would be even more awesome than using it.

Only time will tell.
