As of this Tuesday, Nintendo confirmed that the first-day 3DS sales in the United States were the highest ever for any Nintendo hand-held system. Unfortunately, however, no exact numbers were released and wont be released until early to mid April (which, I guess isnt that far away, even though it sure feels like it), when they announce the first-week US sales.

The 3DS, which launched on the 27th in the United States, sold a hefty amount through preorders, which apparently doubled the amount of preorders for the Wii on Amazon. The 3DS also came with about 30 new titles released as well, including:

Asphalt 3D (Ubisoft)

Bust-a-Move Universe (Square Enix)

Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D (Ubisoft)

Crush 3D (Sega)

Dead or Alive Dimensions (Tecmo Koei)

Dual Pen Sport (Namco Bandai)
