Sir Hammerlock's released

Following weeks of rumors and waiting around, Gearbox and 2K Games have finally pushed out the new DLC content for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

The third DLC pack takes players into Aregus, a dense unchartered area in the swamps of Pandora. Players will be given tasks by Sir Hammerlock and Claptrap in the new areas, and will also meet some new characters along the way, such as a Hyperion scientist by the name of Professor Nakayama.

There'll be a whole host of new enemies and bosses, as well as more chance for some super rare loot, and players will find themselves battling Two-Legged Drifters, Flying Slagged Spores and Insane Witch Doctors to get their hands on it.

Randy Pitchford, president of Gearbox, has given players a bit of insight into the backstory of Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt.

"Claptrap needed work and Sir Hammerlock needs help, so Borderlands 2 players are called to action."

"Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt is a new, original campaign expansion to the Borderlands 2 experience featuring awesome new content including a new fan boat vehicle that can be rigged with a badass flamethrower to help fight tons of new beasts and tribal enemies and take their loot."

Sounds fun. The new DLC is available for $10 or 800 Microsoft Points.
