Some Honest Review about Hogwarts Legacy: Was the Wait Worth it?

This highly anticipated Role-playing game was set to release in 2021. Still, after several ups and downs and three delays, the players could finally experience the Wizarding world of Hogwarts in 2023. All of the postponements for polishing the game resulted in great hype building up, which seemed to progress with each delay, making this a triple-A title on the radar of most gamers out there. When the game launched after a long wait, it was met with mixed reviews. Let us discuss this in more detail, understanding the positives and negatives of the game and whether the game was worth the three-year wait.

Hogwarts Legacy: A Magical Wonderland

A universe ripe with opportunity, it was surprising that it took such a long time for anyone to come up with a game taking place in the Harry Potter universe. Hogwarts Legacy already had a lot to live up to. On top of that, the game's developers took a different approach to the game, giving players a chance to explore the chambers of Hogwarts way before the events of Harry Potter had ever occurred. However, that does not indicate that the title was barren of Tie-ins with the movie franchise. On the contrary, there are many things you can find in this magical wonderland which is sure to keep all avid Harry Potter fans excited. In addition to the tie-ins, the added pressure to do justice to this mystical magic universe was immense. However, thankfully, they designed the game's magic elements to be used to their fullest extent, with a visible impact of each swish and flick of a spell and the addition of a fleshed-out combo system. Furthermore, the myriad of side quests featured within Hogwarts Legacy conveys the idea of a living, breathing world of eccentric and memorable quest-givers. One of the game's best features is the Wizarding Institution, Hogwarts, itself. Avalanche Studio put a lot of hard work into sculpting the academy and the classes to be magnificent. Speaking of sculpting, the studio has also done a great job with the main storyline. There are a host of characters who have different personalities, from the snobbish headmaster Phineas Nigellus Black to the incredibly helpful Matilda Weasley, embodying the Weasley family name with her hospitality and generosity.

Conclusion: Was it Worth the Wait?

Like every coin has two sides, this game isn't all positive. Even though many characters have a unique flair, this often gets overshadowed by a lack of effort put into the voice acting, which can sometimes seem detached. Furthermore, this game has little to no hand-holding, which can sometimes lead to confusion during major parts. However, even considering these negatives, there are so many positives to consider, such as the addictive combat, stunning visuals, and bustling halls and towns, making this game certainly worth the wait.
