Half of WOW Gameplay are by top gamers.

Talk about fanaticism. According to a recent study from Raptr following players time within the last two weeks since the release of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, the top 11 percent of the most active users account for over 50% of total game play by all users. One of the most addictive games on the market clearly has its most addicted players wrapped around its figurative finger, capturing all of a certain group of peoples attentions and time much more than those of others.

And thats not to say that the bottom 89 percent doesnt log in a fair amount of time, as the top 11 percent is made up of players dedicating their entire lives to the game. The highest reported hours came from the Warcraft communitys top player, who logged in an astounding 149 hours in a single week. To put things in perspective, there are only 168 hours in a week. That means he only took 19 hours of a break, equivalent to a little over 2 and a half hours a day, to eat, sleep, or use the restroom (Im going to assume he never left the house for fresh air, or anything like that). And I thought I was busy when I worked a 50-hour workweek this summer while taking a class!

According to Raptrs study, the majority of players clock in only a few hours a day, which is why that top percentage exceeds the others so magnanimously. And to think, Ive never even played for a minute.

How much do you play WoW, readers?
