I can't be sure whether this is a practical joke by Rockstar, or someone at their office decided to start April fools a whole four months early, but according to reports, Rockstar are gearing up to release their patch notes for a new update this month, and the exciting part is that they will contain the long awaited GTA Online heist missions.
Rockstar did of course mentioned fairly recently that the first update to come after the release of the new console ports would include the new GTA heists, but after waiting so long, it's almost quite hard to believe.
However, in the new patch notes for an update planned for December 23rd, it looks as if heists will be making their way to GTA Online, alongside other game changes. Unfortunately, this information only comes from a 'tipster' from within the development team, so we can't promise that any of this information is true or not.
Interestingly, Rockstar has tried to cover up any spread information of the new update leaks,

Grand Theft Auto has always been filled with hilarious cheats, and whilst the cheats in Grand Theft Auto IV could be accessed via Niko's cell phone, they could only be accessed on the last gen version of GTA V via in-game button combinations.
The new version of GTA V, which was released for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, has now been confirmed to have cheats that can be activated via the cell phone, as well as through in-game button combinations.
We aren't sure whether Rockstar have added any new cheats to the franchise, but we have compiled a list of the cheats that we are currently aware of, along with the numbers needed to access them.
If you open up the cell phone dialler app whilst playing as Trevor, Michael or Franklin and type in any one of these numbers the corresponding cheat will be activated.

Rockstar have already announced that Heists will be the first thing they work on after launching GTA for the next gen consoles, but in new news it's been revealed that Rockstar will not release any content updates without releasing an update with the heists in first.
That means no more clothing packs, no more vehicles, nothing until the heists are pushed out to public servers. This is great for two reasons - firstly it means the developers of GTA 5 will be dedicated to finishing online heists, and secondly the heists will be released fairly shortly after the game's launch.
Like with many things of similar fashion, no definitive release date for online heists has been given, but all four consoles will receive it at the same time, as "the first GTA Online update to happen after the game launches on PS4 and Xbox One."
After hearing complaints about the delays of online heists, Rockstar replied with a pretty standard apologetic statement "They are taking more time to create

Remember when Rockstar promised to add Heists to Grand Theft Auto Online? It's now been over a year since it's release, and GTA 5 still doesn't have any online heists.
For me, the heists seemed like one of the most appealing features of the GTA Online mode, but since the release of the online portion of GTA, there has been delay after delay, forcing Rockstar to push back the release of heists for a long time.
One of the main reasons why heists for GTA Online were delayed for so long was due to the large amount of hackers that entered their way into the game, and this caused Rockstar to refocus their attention on exploits that many hackers were taking advantage of.
Since then, Rockstar have been working on filling the new gen ports with as many new features as possible, and this has understandably left the GTA development team to put even less focus on the GTA Online heists.
Luckily, Rockstar have addressed the online heist delays, and they have stated that heists

If you have already purchased Grand Theft Auto V on either the Xbox 360 or the PlayStation 4, you are in for a treat - Rockstar have just announced a bunch of exclusive content that will only be available to those that have played GTA V on the Xbox 360 or PS3 in the past.
The new content will range from new items to completely new events and rewards. Starting with events, returning players will be able to access random events across the game. On top of this, there will be a new 'Duke O' Death' vehicle, and the infamous Dodo seaplane will also be making a return.
Players will also be given a brand new story mission to play through where they will take control of Michael as he follows a cryptic murder mystery.
There will also be two new weapons for returning players - a high velocity rail gun, and an up close and personal hatchet melee weapon.
Players will also be able to take part in a new animal photography challenge which will get players travelling the entire

We've talked a little bit in the past about large game install sizes, but today we have some crazy news to share with you. It has been rumored that Grand Theft Auto V for the PlayStation 4 could take exactly 50GB of storage space from your beloved PS4's hard drive.
That is a huge 10% of the default hard drive that comes with the PS4, and that is only for one game - this does not include any content patches or DLC that Rockstar may plan to release in the future.
50GB may not seem like much, but it's starting to reach the point where many games require between 30GB and 50GB free for install space, and over the next few years that size may keep going up.
For those with slow connections, this is a very large issue, and it makes paying for digital games almost impossible. It's great to see that Sony and Microsoft are now offering digital downloads for their games, but it is not a very viable option, considering that it would only take around 10 games to fill up an entire

We've already talked a little bit about the new upcoming features of Grand Theft Auto V for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, but new rumors suggest that there may be even more features planned for the game that Rockstar are yet to reveal.
One such rumor makes the proposal that Rockstar may have been working on a first person mode for Grand Theft Auto 5, and it may make it's way into the game for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One release.
Whilst there's no way to confidently confirm or deny these rumors, the source comes from a Rockstar blog reader who supposedly found a 'cached' version of the new gen announcement blog within the Rockstar website's code.
On the cached version of the website, the first person mode was described as 'A brand new first person mode for vehicles that shows the interior of the vehicle, including working speedometers, tachometers, dash lights, and more.'
The cached blog post also went on to describe a new first person mode whilst on foot

It's finally happened, Rockstar have released all there is to know about the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Grand Theft Auto V, including the release date of the next gen version of the game.
Retailers around the world have now started to put up pre-orders for GTA V next gen for both the PS4 and the Xbox One, in anticipation for the release date, which has been set for November 18th this year.
GTA V for Xbox One and PS4 will come with a wide range of changes that couldn't make it into the original game due to hardware limitations of the previous generation of consoles. Some of the new changes include new weapons, new vehicles and new activities, as well as increased wildlife and a new and improved foliage and terrain system.
There will also be denser traffic in GTA V for PS4 and Xbox One, making car chases in the city even more intense, and players will notice changes to the weather and vehicle damage systems in-game.
There will also be an extra 100 songs

According to new rumors, the upcoming Grand Theft Auto V rework will come packed with a set of new in-game music tracks for the various radio stations available via radio from a car or a player's home.
One of the radio stations in Grand Theft Auto V is called Non Stop Pop FM, and according to Cara Delevingne, a model who has been the host of the in-game radio station, players will be able to experience a set of new tracks when the rework is released, along with new content in between songs.
This update isn't exactly massive, but it's one of the added details that will make the new Grand Theft Auto rework for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the PC worth buying. Even if you already own GTA V on a previous gen console, the range of new changes to the game should even make purchasing GTA for your new console quite tempting.
Rockstar could have easily just put the same game onto new consoles with a slightly better resolution and frame rate, but instead they are really embracing

It seems a lot of developers are currently very happy to team up with Sony to offer various PlayStation 4 exclusives, including Bungie, the creators of Destiny, and now it even looks like Rockstar may be doing the same.
Whilst the details are unclear, PlayStation's North American marketing vice president, John Koller. revealed to Kotaku that there would be some sort of PlayStation 4 exclusive GTA V content or 'perk' that no other platform would receive. When asked by Kotaku about PS4 exclusive content, Koller replied with "I don't think we announced anything publicly on that, but there will be." This is a pretty detail-void response, but it does tell us that something will be different about the PS4 GTA V experience.
As far as Koller is concerned, Grand Theft Auto has also been a PlayStation based franchise, and Sony's relationship with Rockstar has always been strong. Whether or not we'll see some kind of content in-game exclusive to the PlayStation 4 is unclear at this point,
