Human Head, the same development team as Prey and Prey 2, is now working on a brand new open world RPG game called Rune: Ragnarok.
Surprisingly, Rune: Ragnarok isn't the first Rune game in the franchise. In fact, Human Head created a game called Rune that released way back in 2000.
It looks like Rune: Ragnarok will be the game to revitalize that universe in an exciting new way. So far, we know very little about Rune: Ragnarok other than that the development team is working on it, and it'll be released some point in the future.
No details on release windows or gameplay reveal trailers have yet been mentioned.
We do have a single non-gameplay reveal trailer though. In the reveal trailer the narrator is heard saying the following:
"From birth, the children of the North hear tales of the end of the world. A battle so great the gods fall and the Nine Worlds are consumed by frost and fire. But these tales are false. The gods did not perish. For seven years our

A brand new update for Friday The 13th has now been released to the masses. The update is available for download on all platforms.
The new update for Friday The 13th mostly brings a number of bug fixes and gameplay balancing. Most importantly, however, is the removal of friendly fire in most instances. Going forward, it will now be very hard to take out your teammates. These changes have been made to help cut down on griefing.
According to the development team, the team-killing mechanic was getting abused - the community reported 'rampant abuse' of the feature.
The only way players can kill their teammates after this latest update is if they run them over. This means any weapons that counselors pickup cannot be used on their teammates.
Interestingly, this new update also changes the layout of most of the maps in Friday The 13th. Maps have been made smaller to help improve the flow of gameplay and to keep things as action-packed and tense as possible.

A new demo has been released for the upcoming PS4 exclusive, Knack 2. The new demo is currently only available in Europe and Australia. If you're in either of these regions you can jump in and download the demo for free right now.
So far, the demo weighs in at just 2.6GB. If you download it from the store today, you'll have roughly one week to play before Knack 2 is launched worldwide. Unfortunately, there's no evidence that the Knack 2 demo will come to any other regions, including North America.
Knack 2 was originally revealed via a leak quite some time ago, but it wasn't until Sony's PSX event last year that the game was officially revealed by Sony. Now, Knack 2 is set to launch on September 5 in North America. Knack 2 will also launch in Europe and Australia a day later, on September 6.
The original Knack didn't get as much critical appeal as the developers had originally hoped. However, game designer Mark Cerny feels like the sequel touches on a lot of the areas

Out of nowhere, Microsoft has geared up to announce Age of Empires IV. The game will launch for Xbox One and Windows, and it will also launch a definitive edition of the first three Age of Empires games.
So far, we know very little about Age of Empires IV besides the fact that it's coming. We do know that the studio responsible for Age of Empires IV will be the Microsoft Games Studio. Many of the developers from the original Age of Empires trilogy have moved on, so instead Microsoft has hired out the bulk of developers responsible for the Company of Heroes real time strategy franchise.
The development team made a statement alongside the Age of Empires IV announcement trailer.
"We can't wait to tap into our strengths as a studio to fuse historical context with deep strategic gameplay, and to bring this franchise back to the forefront of gaming and into the hands of its beloved community. We look forward to sharing with you more details in the months to come. For now,

A brand new Xbox One S bundle has been showcased and it features a Minecraft themed skin for the console and the controller.
The Xbox One S console itself has been coated with a skin that mimics the pattern of a dirt block in Minecraft. Once standing up, the dirt section of the block can be seen at the bottom, with a small layer of green pixelated grass at the top.
The controller has been themed to look like a Creeper. The controller itself is almost entirely covered in the famous green pixel Creeper pattern. The front-facing buttons feature a green color scheme, while the bumpers, triggers, and sides are black.
A Creeper face can be seen in the center of the controller, with the Xbox Guide button directly above it.
Recently, Mojang has worked closely with Microsoft to bring all versions of Minecraft together within the single 'better together' update. With this, all Minecraft players can play with each other, regardless of what platform they are using.

Surprise, surprise - No Man's Sky is getting a big update and it may even make the game worth a revisit.
When No Man's Sky first launched, it was eaten into by the gaming community because of the developer behind the game, Hello Games, vastly under delivered. They broke many promises about the content of the game.
For example, Hello Games mentioned that No Man's Sky would have multiplayer, and the game would have a universe where players could leave their mark. Both of these features were quickly debunked as soon as No Man's Sky launched.
In the new update, No Man's Sky will be getting some kind of story that serves to piece together the game's existing content and provide players with more of a reason to explore.
The new update is called Atlas Rises, and it is available to all No Man's Sky players for free. The patch notes for Atlas Rises haven't yet been revealed, but the most notable features include a brand new story and a quick travel feature that will allow

The Southeast Asia scene for fighting games is growing even stronger. We now have more details about the Southeast Major for Street Fighter V.
The Southeast Asia Major is considered to be the largest event in the region, and it gained a lot of attention last year. We're expecting to see the Southeast 2017 Major be even bigger
This year, the Southeast Asia Major will take place at GameStart 2017 in Suntec City, Singapore, on October 14. The event will end on October 15.
It won't just be Street Fighter at the SE major this year. Players from three different games will be making their way to the event. Street Fighter V is, of course, the biggest game to make a return this year with the Capcom Pro Tour 2017. We'll also see an event for the Tekken World Tour Asia Pacific Regional Championships and the Windjammers Asia Championships.

eSports is growing at an incredible rate. It's a new industry that showcases the competitive potential of gamers across the world.
While it hasn't traditionally been seen as a sport, many professional sports players and sports bodies are starting to respect eSports as a sport that takes dedication, practice, and sportsmanship, just like any physical sport.
The next milestone for eSports is for the Olympics to accept it as a sport. The next Olympics event will happen in Paris in 2024. Paris has mentioned that they believe eSports does deserve a spot on the Olympic stage.
Their argument is that the youth are very interested in eSports as a whole, and it should be considered a sport when taking the competitive environment of eSports into account.
The difficulty with an eSports Olympic event is that in the current eSports space, competitive players and teams are very stretched between events as it is. Players and teams are often forced to pick between events and

While it may have been some time since Xbox originally announced backward compatibility for original Xbox games, it's been reiterated recently that the feature is still being worked on.
Phil Spencer was the person to step up and speak about the progress that's currently being made for the backward compatibility feature.
When asked about whether Xbox would make any announcements about original Xbox compatibility, Phil Spencer responded by saying "I hope to bring more on Original Xbox backward compatibility this year, yes."
By this comment, it sounds like the feature is still in the works and it may be some time before it's finalized. There may be some blocks that could potentially slow down the project, but if we're fortunate, we may get more finalized details about an expected release date for the feature before the end of the year.
It's already been previously confirmed that original Xbox games will run better and look nicer on the Xbox One. While games won't
