Xbox One Game

EA has just revealed a bunch of new bits of information about their upcoming game, Battlefield Hardline, including details about new maps, weapons and equipment.

Firstly, the two newly announced maps have been named as Bloodout and Hollywood Hills. As you can imagine, the latter of these two maps places players in a large Hollywood villa. Whilst the level is considerably smaller than some others, the large size of the villa will give players enough space to breathe in.

The other map, Bloodout, is a set of inner city streets based on real life Los Angeles. The difference between Battlefield Hardline's depiction of LA and the real life LA is that there is a lot more debris, wrecked cars and scrap in Battlefield, as can be expected.

In other news, Steve Papoutsis, Vice president of Visceral Games and Battlefield Hardline, revealed that there will be a total of 51 weapons and 38 gadgets in Battlefield Hardline. Considering players have access to primary and special weapons,

If you're a fan of the Sniper franchise, you may want to look into picking up the Sniper 3 Ultimate Edition. The extended collector's edition of the game will include various extra digital features that are not available with the base game.

Unfortunately, there will not be any additional physical content for the Ultimate Edition of Sniper 3, so in a sense, purchasing the Ultimate Edition serves as buying the season pass for the game.

Inside of the Ultimate Edition, players will receive a 3 part 'Save Churchill' DLC. On top of the DLC, six different weapons packs will be included. The weapons packs available in the Sniper 3 Ultimate Edition have been listed below.

Additionally to the above content, the Ultimate pack will allow players to access a few new multiplayer modes, including The Shooting

Ubisoft have just released more information on the first of many upcoming DLC releases planned for Assassin's Creed Unity. The DLC in question has been named Dead Kings, and it will feature a new story, new enemies and even a new weapon.

Dead Kings takes place right after the ending of Unity, following Arno as he leaves Paris for another city named Saint Denis. In this city, a series of underground crypts has been rumored to keep the bodies of dead French kings.

As you can imagine, the Dead Kings DLC will follow Arno as he makes his way down into the crypt. Arno will fight against other crypt raiders, as well as having access to an interestingly named Guillotine gun.

On top of the new single player story, there will be some new open world activities, including new murder mysteries, enigmas and a few co-op missions as well.

If you are looking to buy Evolve, you may want to consider getting a pre-order in. The developers of Evolve have just announced that the game has gone gold, and to celebrate they are offering some in-game rewards for anybody that chooses to pre-order the digital copy of the game.

If you pre-order the digital version of Evolve on the Xbox One, you will be given free access to the open beta that is going to take place on January 15th. This beta will included one monster named Wraith, and four hunters, named Parnell, Abe, Caira and Cabot.

As well as having a little sneaky access to this content in the beta version of Evolve, players who pre-order the digital version of the game for Xbox One will also be given the same five characters at launch for free, straight from day one.

Those who do not pre-order Evolve, or who play on another platform, will need to unlock the aforementioned characters to be able to play as them.

Some players are excited, some are frustrated, but the truth is, Bungie have tried to give something back to the community as a 'thank you' for the continued support the large majority of Destiny players have given to the game since it's launch.

This 'thank you' is in the form of a legendary weapon - every player can now hop into game, no matter what version of the game you are playing, and go speak to the postmaster to pick up a free legendary.

Whilst legendaries have proven to be pretty hard to get in the game, this is the first time Bungie have given players such easy access to a legendary weapon, and it's just any old legendary weapon either.

The item from the postmaster will reward players with a ticket that will be randomly converted into any legendary item in the game. Legendaries aren't as rare as exotic, but it still takes a lot of farming, or a lot of luck to land upon your first legendary item, so some players are frustrated that Bungie have handed out something

It has been revealed that the first DLC of Far Cry 4 from Ubisoft will be released in January 13th. The new DLC pack has been named Escape from Durgesh Prison, and it will include a variety of new features.

For those that have purchased the $29.99 season pass, Escape from Durgesh Prison will be available for free, however other players will need to pay $9.99 to play through it. In Escape from Durgesh Prison, Far Cry protagonist Ajay Ghale will be partnered up with Hurk, a slightly mad veteran players may recognize from Far Cry 3.

As you can expect, players will need to try to escape a prison in the upcoming Far Cry 4 DLC, and this can be done solo or co-operatively with a friend or stranger online. So far, details are still on the low as far as length and story goes for the new DLC, but it has been confirmed that there will be a unique permadeath setting for the DLC.

In anticipation of the release of the new Havoc DLC planned for the end of January, Call of Duty Advanced Warfare developers, Sledgehammer Games, have just released a new trailer for the upcoming Exo Zombies game mode, which will be made available as part of the upcoming DLC.

Interestingly, the trailer shares a bit of a backstory into why there is a sudden zombie outbreak, and why a group of soldiers are attempting to hold off the relentless hordes. In the trailer, the story is explained -

"Untrained and unprepared, four Atlas employees must survive a horror unlike any other. John Malkovich, Bill Paxton, Rose McGowan, and Jon Bernthal star in Exo Zombies, coming to Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare DLC in 2015."

It seems as if the zombies mode will be released as an episodic co-operative multiplayer mode. Whilst we aren't entirely sure, it would make sense to assume that each episode of the zombies mode will release alongside each piece of DLC for Call of Duty Advanced

Major Nelson has just posted up on his blog to announce the return of the Xbox Live Games with Gold deal for the first time this year, and admittedly Xbox players will be getting a pretty decent lineup this month.

Like previous months, Xbox Live Gold subscribers will be given two free Xbox 360 games, and one free Xbox One game. As always, the Xbox One game will be available throughout the entirety of the month, whilst one of the Xbox 360 games will be available for half of the month before it is swapped out for the next one.

On the Xbox One, Microsoft is giving away a free copy of Dark Dreams Don't Die, (or D4 for short) which usually sells for $14.99. Dark Dreams Don't Die is an episodic video game that follows a story, whilst incorporating interactive gameplay elements.

Whilst we all rightly presumed that the Master Chief Collection was going to be released with all of the content from previous games at launch, 343 Industries has been very far behind with development, due to server issues and other problems with the new Halo 2 anniversary multiplayer.

As a result, many in-game features and content of the Master Chief Collection has been unavailable since launch, including the Spartan Ops missions that were released as part of Halo 4.

The Spartan Ops missions were a set of in-game objectives that followed a set story and played out like the firefight game type in both Halo: Reach and Halo 3: ODST did. Unlike firefight, Spartan Ops were specially designed to delve into the story that took place whilst the Master Chief was floating about in space, and many players have complained that they are an incredibly important part of Halo 4.

Recently, Microsoft pushed out an Xbox One port of Killer Instinct 1 as part of the new season for the latest Killer Instinct game on the console, and now they are putting a little bit of love into it to pay homage to all those that played the original Killer Instinct on the Super Nintendo.

In a new patch, that has recently gone live, Killer Instinct 1 now has online multiplayer capabilities, and players can jump in game to play against other players from across the world. As well as the new online features, Microsoft added a few new changes to Killer Instinct 1, all of which can be read in the patch notes below.
