Assassin's Creed 3 Story Info

In an unfortunate event for Ubisoft and fortunately for us, the story mode behind the Assassin's Creed 3 multiplayer was leaked. The leak happened from GameTrailers who uploaded the multiplayer trailer ahead of time.

As always it did not take long for them to rectify the error and they have since pulled it down. Seems they were not fast enough as some had actually been able to download the trailer off. Now there is a cat and mouse game going on between the uploaders and Ubisoft who are trying to ban all of the trailers. If you are lucky you can check out the trailer in the link below:

Animus Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uBC7B4XClNk

The trailer is like an ad for the Animus which was developed by the Templar-funded research company Abstergo. The trailer shows that the animus has now been turned into a commercial device which would allow the owners to experience the past right from their homes. The multiplayer component in a way has been explained off as a "training exercise".

The trailer continues on to mention that there would be several game modes and out of which two have been detailed. The first was "Domination" which is basically a 4 vs 4 game mode. In this teams have to capture and defend as many territories as possible in order to score points.

The other mode mentioned was "Wolfpack" where 2 to 4 players will team up against the AI. This mode is a race against the clock as the team members rush to assassinate all AI within the given time frame.  Both game modes were shown in an arctic map which looked pretty cool (no pun intended).

Among the returning favorites were Manhunt, Wanted, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag and Artifact Assault. The multiplayer will allow you to connect with friends to either join them or challenge them. A few of the challenges included "Open the Can", "Meet Ted" and "Drive the Car".

The trailer also mentioned a "true competitive ranking system" which will track and compare your level and skill versus all other players. The dedicated players are also supposed to be rewarded by the Animus in many ways. My guess is that it refers to unlocks and a part of the trailer also showed a bit of the character customization as well.

The trailer also showed a section in the multiplayer called the "Story Quest" which included a map of the "future initiatives" and story-based files which will be unlocked upon level progression and completion of certain challenges. This section resembles the story based information revolving around the Templars that was revealed in AC: Revelations.

And yeah, the trailer it is pretty obvious that the narrator of the whole trailer was none other than Warren Vidic from Abstergo who played a major role in multiplayer component of AC: Revelations. So if you guys were lucky to get to see the trailer, what do you think about it? Are you excited about the multiplayer in AC3? Will you be looking for a modded controller when it comes to the multiplayer offerings, let us know.
