In previous games of the Assassin's Creed series, we've been introduced to various multiplayer modes, and although they have added a few extra hours to gameplay, they weren't complete enough to offer an experience separate from the single player storyline, and this is where Assassin's Creed 3 will add something different.

The new Assassin's Creed 3, which is set to release at the end of this month, will have many of the multiplayer game modes that we've seen before. As well as players having access to most of the old multiplayer game modes, new ones will be added, such as the 2-4 player Wolf Pack mode, which puts teams of players on missions to assassinate 25 waves of A.I targets. Each round will have a set time limit that will decrease incrementally as more rounds of the game are played.

Ubisoft aren't just trying to raise the competitive spirits of those playing Assassin's Creed 3, but also want to award players with items such as character dossiers exclusive to the multiplayer experience.

"As you progress in the game and level up your character, you access these files and videos, "Kiehen, a developer for the game told CVG. "Every month you'll have challenges to unlock new content that will continue the storyline throughout the year."

Not only does this open up new opportunities for players to make the most out of the game, but it also adds a social aspect to the storyline by depicting scenes and content spread throughout the year.

Assassin's Creed will hit stores on October 30th
