Halo 4 DLC

Just a month after launch, Halo 4 has already got its first map pack. The Crimson map pack includes three new levels and is available for 800 Microsoft Points ($10 USD).

If you have purchased the War Games season pass for 2000 points, or own the limited edition of Halo 4, you'll get this, and all future Halo 4 map packs for free.

The three new Crimson maps have been named Wreckage, Harvest, and Shatter, each with varying sizes and game modes available to play within War Games.

Wreckage is a medium sized asymmetrical map with which most of the area is filled with debris. There's plenty of cover areas and lots of winding paths and platforms, a perfect environment for tactical objective based games.

Harvest is smaller than Wreckage and is perfect for team-based objective game modes like Capture the Flag or Assault. The map is symmetrical and is based off of the planet Harvest, a location mentioned previously in books and other Halo references.

Shatter is the largest of the Crimson map packs, and has been designed for Big Team Battle and other large 12-16 player game modes. Shatter is placed in a UNSC mining facility and reminds me of Waterworks from Halo 2.

8 new achievements have also been added with the Crimson map pack, totaling an extra 250 gamerscore points to earn. All achievements vary from 20 to 50 gamerscore, and they can all be seen below:

Now They Fly?: Get a kill while airborne in a Warthog

Size is Everything: Kill 20 enemies with a detached machine gun turret

ODST: Kill a player while you’re airborne from using a Man Cannon

Bigfoot: Kill 20 enemies using the Mantis foot stomp

David and Goliath: Board an enemy Mantis

Clay Pigeon: Shoot a player out of the air while they use the man cannon

Special Delivery: Kill an enemy with a melee attack when landing from a man cannon

Pump Yer Brakes: Score the killing blow on a Mantis
