Peter Moore of EA Claims BF3 Dented Modern Warfare 3

Modern Warfare 3 left its mark during November, video gaming's biggest retail month. And it still continues to dominate the video game scene right now. However, Peter Moore, EA's CEO, insists that it's game, Battlefield 3, managed to take a chunk out of the huge series' market share.

"I think when the dust fully settles, maybe when we're looking at the end of our fiscal year, we'll do an analysis and I think we will have taken [market] share...I don't think there's any doubt about that, unless everything BF3 sells is just incremental."

Moore also stated that the rivalry between BF3 and MW3 benefited
"gamers and the industry", thus growing a deeper meaning. However
there is no solid evidence of showing Battlefield's progression that
it took a bite out of COD's market share. Some could say that the market
grew or that a lot of people bought both games.

With probability and rumors that EA is going to copy Activision and make
annual releases, the tension between the two developers won't be settled
for a long time. Likely when the next COD game gets released, I wouldn't
be surprised that EA shoots out a game like it, like a sequel to Bad Company.
