Switch Overwatch Launch Plagued By Bugs

Blizzard’s hotly-anticipated Overwatch port to the Nintendo Switch is being launched with some serious issues, leaving players frustrated by the game’s performance.

The game seems to have a lot of issues that weren’t there for the PS4, Xbox One, or PC. These include character models that are nowhere to be found when the game boots. This leaves teammates unaware of their location as well as enemies, who’re showing up as balls of light within the game.

Lag also appears to be a major issue in the game, causing players to miss shots and end up dead before the can respond. This issue seems to be widespread across the platform as well, with multiple media outlets and players complaining about the issue.

It appears that the game is more or less broken right now, and Blizzard is going to have to do some serious work in the form of patching to get things up to snuff.

In other Blizzard news, it appears that Nintendo isn’t working much to promote Overwatch on their system given the controversy that the developer’s seen regarding the Hong Kong protest movement. Big N hasn’t included the game in their social media or email marketing, instead, focusing on Fortnite Chapter 2 and The Witcher 3. Part of this may be because of the above-mentioned issues, but it’s not a good sign for Blizzard, which is having a dire month of October.

If you’re thinking about picking up Overwatch for the first time, we highly recommend you go with a different platform. The game plays great on PS4 and Xbox, while PC performance is fantastic. You can also use our Evil Controllers to get the edge on the competition, with thumbstick tension and other customized settings letting you maximize your potential.
