INTRODUCING THE NEW EVIL-DPAD FROM EVIL CONTROLLERS
Well it's finally out, we've been excited for it's release for awhile now and it really couldn't have come out at a better time for you guys. Black Ops is just around the corner and Super Meat Boy is $10 until the end of the month. Both of these games, while massively different, benefit from our Evil D-pad.
While shooters may not use the d-pad as often as the analog sticks, typically used for aiming and movement, the d-pad is still an essential part of the experience. Anyone that's played Gears of War to a competitive degree testify that the original Microsoft d-pad is often a failure in critical moments. Bungie ditched the use of the

Games - Banning in Halo
Like a Covenant Brute with a Gravity Hammer, Bungie reset the credits of 15,000 users who were caught earning credits through disingenuous means. Apparently there was a challenge being completed over and over again through "intentional network manipulation,"Â aka intentional Xbox Live disconnects. This allowed gamers to receive the credits awarded for this specific challenge 20+ times. The gamers caught having taken advantage of this exploit have found their credits reset.
Bungie has been taking their online community seriously since day 1 and it's nice to see them continue doing so, but is it entirely fair to punish gamers for taking advantage of an exploit in their software? A lot of innocent gamers have claimed that they have been unfairly punished by having their hard earned credits removed, but Bungie responded by saying "Spot checks have revealed the telltale signature of this behavior on every denier so far, so don't be fooled by the protests

Console News - Kinect gathering attention.
Since Microsoft's Kinect is new technology, it's hard for us here at Evil not to be excited, but as gamers are you guys?
The Wii has definitely shown that motion controls can be successful, but part of their success should be attributed to the novelty of motion controls. People bought Wiis for two reason, one it was from Nintendo, and two we hadn't seen motion controls before, the novelty was intriguing. Sony and Microsoft don't have the luxury of being given the benefit of the doubt, we've seen what motion controls can do so it'll take a bit more to impress us.
Microsoft has a slight

Games - Lots of lots of Halo Game Content
It's no secret, sequels kill. On the business end, sequels just make sense; gamers want them and investors can have faith that a follow up to a successful game will be equally successful. Sequels get green lit on a regular basis, but how often is too often?
Last week Phil Spencer, Corporate Vice President for Microsoft Game Studios, told IGN that, "There's no explicit strategy that says we're to ship a Halo game every year. I will say I think one Halo game every three years -- which was kind of our old cadence "€œ is probably not frequent enough."
Spencer goes on to explain that the issue is staying

Industry News: Increase in Gold Accounts for XBOX LIVE
It's easy to be angry with Microsoft and easier to not care, assuming you have the funds, but the $10 price hike on Xbox Live is both a warning to consumers and a wake-up call to Sony. As a consumer we've got two options, renew when our subscriptions are over (for $10 more) or to play all of our games online with the PS3. Neither option makes us happy. We got used to paying $49.99 and were happily complacent about it. So why the price hike now?
Microsoft isn't one to throw free money away, their board meetings must have agreed on one thing, they were going to make more money from the people that would renew for 10 extra bones then they were going to lose from people being offended by the cost increase. Essentially, they know we're hooked. So as consumers we'd be silly not to watch Microsoft for service improvements, because our $10 dollars should be going to something.
As for Sony, they can't feel great knowing

What to play this month, July 2010
There was definitely a wide range of great games that were released these past few months and July was no exception. For Play Station 3 and Xbox 360 NCAA Football 11 took the cake. The PC game was obviously the highly anticipated StarCraft II. Nintendo Wii struggled and didn't have a great game this month. Nintendo DS had Dragon Quest IX. Nintendo DSiWare had Steamworld Tower Defense. Nintendo WiiWare also didn't have any great games unfortunately. For the Play Station Portable, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 Portable was a great one. PSN came up with DeathSpank. XBLA had Limbo. And the iPhone game that was great this month was Archetype. For the article follow the link below.

Rumor: an X-Box Handheld?
X-Box is without question the most popular video game console, especially now with their recent release of the X-Box Kinect. However, there is one console X-Box/Microsoft has yet to develop in which competitor's like Nintendo and Sony have already developed and released and that is a Hand-held device. So, Nintendo has released the hand-held device called the Nintendo DS and Sony has released the PSP, both are very popular in terms of portable gaming device. Microsoft has an idea for a hand-held console which will obtain the name of X-Box 180, meaning it is "half of 360."Â The portable device Microsoft has in mind will have a large and small screen panel, similar to the DS. Also, it will feature the same colored buttons of yellow, red, green, and blue; the same concept as a 360 controller. The release date or even the creation of the portable device is still up for debate, even more so since the new the 360 has been released. However, X-Box users

XBOX LIVE'S BROADCAST TO NOT ALL COUNTRIES?
Found this information to be very interesting. I found it interesting due to the fact that I assumed because the internet is everywhere anybody with an XBOX could log in and play. However it seems that Microsoft only allows the service in certain countries. They have just announced the addition of Russia, Columbia and a few more. What gets me why would this be regulated? I would think that you would want to provide the opportunity to everyone who purchases your console right? Maybe the Tech is way over my head and you need special servers and tech support etc to run it but.... It is 2010 and every body should be able to play. Follow this link to see which countries are included...

Evil Controller Information on:
Universal Standard Rapid Fire Controller
When it comes to video games and the millions of potential opponents all over the world, it is sometimes difficult to stay competitive enough to have fun while playing. This is where a family run business in Tempe, Arizona comes into play. Evil Controllers has helped pioneer new ways of playing video games with their Universal Standard Rapid Fire Controller.
Their Universal Standard Rapid Fire Controller is meant for the Xbox 360 video game console. The "Universal" means that it works with more than one video game. So, instead of having to have a complex code or special controller for every video game, gamers can buy one controller that will enhance their game play for a large (and growing) list of video games.
Their modded Xbox controllers are not going to be favorites of the competition, but if you want a little edge on the virtual battlefield, this video game controller has been modified
