I walked into a local video game retail store earlier this week, and I noticed that they had boxed copies of Elder Scrolls Online for the Xbox One ready for pre-order. I thought this was pretty odd, seeing as development on the game was still well under way, and the release has now been pushed back to late 2014.
Recent news suggests that you should probably not get your hopes up if you do spot a boxed copy of Elder Scrolls Online in-store like I did, because Zenimax Online Studios may have to push back the console release of the MMO game even further.
Creative director for the project, Paul Sage, has stated that their current main goal is to get the console versions of Elder Scrolls Online ready for release at some point this year, but he also mentioned to IGN that he can't promise the game will definitely release at some point this year for consoles.
According to Zenimax, the current delays are due to a series of issues and 'unique problems' specific to the various

One of the biggest reasons many gamers have gone for the PlayStation 4 over the Xbox One is the price point; no matter how many discounts Microsoft have managed to put on their console, the PS4 has still remained the cheaper console, and this may have helped Sony to push a larger number of units.
However, the extra cost of the Xbox One isn't for nothing - the console comes packed with the Kinect, the motion sensing, speech detecting equipment that tin foil hat wearers claim spies on you whilst you eat your TV dinners.
Whether or not you're a fan of the Kinect really comes down to personal opinion. As far as I'm concerned, it's always felt like a bit of a gimmick and being forced to purchase the Kinect alongside the Xbox One is a move that certainly makes me route for the PlayStation 4.

GameStop is hosting a brand new promotion that rewards gamers for pre-ordering the new Call of Duty Advanced Warfare from their retail stores or their online website. If you choose to pre-order the new Call of Duty title through GameStop, you will be given a new personalization DLC pack that can be downloaded for both Black Ops 2 and Call of Duty Ghosts as soon as your pre-order goes through.
The personalization pack offers a host of new Advanced Warfare themed cosmetic apparel, including a new weapon camo, a player patch, player card, a new reticle and a player background.
None of this content provides any bonus to gameplay, and simply serves as an additional pack of personalization items, just as the name of the pack suggests. So far, it seems the only way to get ahold of this pack is by pre-ordering through GameStop.
No other pre-order bonuses have been announced at this point, but it wouldn't be surprising if some kind of bonus for Advanced Warfare was announced

A brand new reveal trailer has been released by Insomniac Games that shows off the utter carnage and mayhem you can expect to find in Sunset Overdrive, and unlike other trailers, the new video footage released showcases actual gameplay.
From first look, Sunset Overdrive looks like an odd mix between Jet Set Radio and any standard third person shooter - the game relies on a velocity movement system, that allows players to speed up as the grind on power lines, run up walls and use the environment around them to their advantage.
The actual gun gameplay may sound a little dull and uninspiring when compared to the fun, colorful environment that can be traversed so easily, but thanks to Insomniac Games zany way of making games, you can expect to fight your way through all kinds of monsters with strange DIY weapons that just wouldn't stand a chance of working in real life.
Microsoft and Insomniac Games also revealed some information on the exclusive content available for the

Respawn Entertainment have almost finished their first DLC pack for Titanfall, and it has been scheduled for release later on this month. The pack, which has been named Expedition, will include three new maps for Titanfall, and will be available for $9.99, the first map War Games has already been showcased, whilst the third map, Swampland will most likely be detailed next week.
This week, Runoff was shown off by Respawn Entertainment, and it should be a favorite for any players looking for some decent pilot vs pilot combat. Geoff Smith, a level designer at Respawn Entertainment revealed their hopes to make a map that focused on the pilot combat on the Titanfall website.
Smith wrote, "The core concept of the level is multiple layers of paths: concrete canals filled with water and trash below, and upper levels that are cleaner and more industrial. I thought the canals would be cool for Titans to fight in, with Pilots able to jump across them. I also set out to make more choke

The next Call of Duty game that is planned for release this year has just been revealed, and so far it's looking pretty interesting. As we know at this point, the Call of Duty title for 2014 has been developed by a new developer, Sledgehammer Games, and they have been working on it for around 3 years now.
The new Call of Duty title will focus on advanced future combat, and has been titled Advanced Warfare. In Advanced Warfare we can expect to see advanced weaponry, aircraft and drones, as well as a wide variety of other technical gear, including wearable exoskeletons that makes Call of Duty comparable with something out of Halo or Dead Space.
Personally, I think this is a pretty interesting direction for Sledgehammer to take, but seeing as Black Ops has been touching on 'future combat' a little bit already, it isn't entirely surprising. Hopefully there will be enough new content to refresh the series a little.
Another interesting thing about Advanced Warfare is that

Last week we mentioned that Destiny isn't too far away from being ready to ship out, and despite all of the waiting, it really isn't all that long before we'll all be able to get our hands on it. Bungie has always been one of my favorite games developers, so for me it's exciting to see where Destiny goes.
Recently Bungie released three separate videos showing off all three classes in Destiny with in-game footage, and whilst each video only lasted about 20 seconds, they pretty clearly showed what kind of experience we can expect from the combat in Destiny.
In Destiny, the three classes available are the Titan, the Warlock and the Hunter. Each class falls into a different role in co-op situations, and with most class based games, each class has their advantages and disadvantages.
For example, the Titan is a tank-like class that has a hefty amount of health and armor, but as a trade-off, this character does not have as many damage dealing capabilities.

Black Tusk Studios, a new studio wholly backed by Microsoft have just put up a bunch of new job listings for a brand new Gears of War game, and from what we can gather from these job listings, Microsoft want to make sure the next Gears of War game is superbly epic.
One job listing for a senior rendering engineer states that the role could help develop "bleeding edge new rendering techniques to deliver best in class visuals for a AAA console game," and another suggest that the role in question needs to help shape an "industry leading multiplayer experience."
There has been a lot of talk recently about a possible new Gears of War title, and now that Microsoft have the rights to the franchise, it seems clear that they want it to be a title that Sony fans drool over.
Titanfall is a great title that could lead to a very successful series of games, but it's likely to jump to multi-platform support by the time the second game has been developed. Halo has also been an iconic

Besides the diehard fans, there aren't that many of us out there that can still get excited at the announcement of a new Call of Duty game, however the next COD title planned for release this year may actually be worth checking out.
The next COD title, or Call of Duty 2014 as it has been informally called, has been planned for release this Fall, however, despite only being a year after the release of Call of Duty Ghosts, the development team behind it have been quietly working on it for around 3 years now.
Typically, the Call of Duty titles have been created by two different development studios; Infinity Ward and Treyarch Games. This gives each development studio two years to work on a title, and a Call of Duty game can still be released each year.
This year round, Sledgehammer Games have gotten involved, and that means the COD franchise will be entering a three year development cycle for the first time.
