We've talked a little bit in the past about large game install sizes, but today we have some crazy news to share with you. It has been rumored that Grand Theft Auto V for the PlayStation 4 could take exactly 50GB of storage space from your beloved PS4's hard drive.
That is a huge 10% of the default hard drive that comes with the PS4, and that is only for one game - this does not include any content patches or DLC that Rockstar may plan to release in the future.
50GB may not seem like much, but it's starting to reach the point where many games require between 30GB and 50GB free for install space, and over the next few years that size may keep going up.
For those with slow connections, this is a very large issue, and it makes paying for digital games almost impossible. It's great to see that Sony and Microsoft are now offering digital downloads for their games, but it is not a very viable option, considering that it would only take around 10 games to fill up an entire

New details have emerged about a planned update that will add a bit more customization to the Xbox One dashboard.
Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, has recently confirmed that the Xbox One will soon be getting new options for custom backgrounds, along with talking about other plans for the platform, in a new TiC podcast.
During the podcast, Phil Spencer mentioned that backgrounds, screenshots and themes will be coming to the Xbox One soon, however Spencer failed to mentioned exactly when this would be.
When asked about the Xbox One UI and the likelihood of seeing background and profile pic customization options, Phil Spencer replied with, "You will see it, I'll announce it here - I was told themes and background pics are something we're working on, and screenshots -- people beat me up about screenshots - I know people like to customize the look of their dashboard, we're going to deliver them, I can't give you a when yet."
By the sounds of it, a lot more UI customization

In an odd turn of events, Gearbox Studio CEO, Randy Pitchford, recalls his encounter with a bomb disposal unit. At around 7:30PM last Friday, a bomb disposal squad was sent to the Gearbox HQ.
Whilst most employees had gone home at this point, Randy Pitchford was still at work, and the bomb squad moved to the Gearbox HQ with the aim to 'dispose a car bomb' in the parking lot owned by Gearbox.
Whilst the disposal unit refused to give full details as to why they had been caught out, Randy Pitchford mentioned that he did not call the bomb squad, and he was unsure why such a problem escalated in the first place.
The most likely thing to have happened was that an individual decided to call the police to inform them of a car bomb in the Gearbox parking lot in an attempt to "prank" the company - it's a tactic that many streamers, Youtubers and companies involved in the gaming industry have had to deal with.
Whilst it's unlikely a car bomb was ever present at Gearbox

It has been revealed that Bungie's brand new open world loot n' shooter game, Destiny, will require a massive 40GB internal memory free on the Xbox One for it to be able to install.
This news comes from a range of leaks showing off the game case for Destiny and the details on the back of the case. In the small print underneath the promotional images, it clearly states that 40GB hard drive space will be required for players to install the game.
Whilst these leaks are only directly related to the Xbox One version of Destiny, it's very likely that the PlayStation 4 will receive similar treatment, and 40GB or around that size will most likely be needed on the PS4 too.
Whilst both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One come with 500GB hard drives as standard, this space will quickly be used up if games like Destiny are put on the market. Destiny is bound to receive many patches and content packs in the future that will only make the file size even larger too.
In fact,

The new game lineup for the PS Plus games on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PS Vita have now been announced, and whilst it's lineup may perhaps be the weakest it's been for a few months, there's still a decent amount of free games to delve into. As usual, the lineup spans six games across all three current PlayStation consoles.
For the PlayStation 4, PS Plus subscribers will be able to get their hands on Velocity 2X, a fast paced side scrolling platformer that has a wide range of cool shooting, teleporting and other great sci-fi mechanics. The second PS4 title is Sportsfriends, which is a great party game filled with all sorts of quick arcade and puzzle games that people can play together on the same console.
On the PlayStation 3, All Stars Battle Royale has been put up for free - this is a great game that pits together all of PlayStation's best known video game characters and sticks them in the same arena for a Super Smash Bros' style fighting experience.

A new update for Watch Dogs has been recently released that adds a few new features and also addresses a large number of bugs and issues present in the previous version of the game. In terms of new features, with the new Watch Dogs update players will finally be able to interact with their friends by hacking their worlds.
The online hacking and tailing missions were previously limited to random matchmaking, however with the new update players will now be able to make the choice to play against their friends instead. Players will also be able to turn off friend invasions, just in case your friends start to become a pest to play with.
On top of adding the new online play feature for friends, Ubisoft have put a few efforts in with the latest patch to help cut out bad player behaviour in Watch Dogs by pooling those who frequently disconnect with each other. Typically, from now on, if you frequently display any forms of bad behaviour, you'll have to get a taste of your own medicine

We've just rolled into a new month, and that means it's time to talk about the next Xbox Live Games with Gold lineup. We've got quite a few treats in store this week, including some Xbox 360 retail titles, as well as a couple digital-based Xbox One games.
Firstly, Xbox One owners with Xbox Gold will be able to treat themselves with Crimson Dragon, an Xbox exclusive that saw itself as one of the few available Xbox One launch titles the day the console was released. Crimson Dragon is an indirect sequel to Panzer Dragoon, a game that made it's rounds on the Original Xbox many years ago. Crimson Dragon will be available all the way throughout the month.
Alongside Crimson Dragon, Xbox Live gold subscribers will be able to get their hands on Strike Suit Zero: Director's Cut, which made it to reality after successfully being backed on Kickstarter. Both Xbox One games are available till August 31st.
As for the Xbox 360, players will be able to pick up Motocross Madness, a Trials

A brand new gameplay trailer has just been released for the upcoming EA Sports title, FIFA 15. Showcasing new crowds, player interactions and unique behaviour both for players and crowds, the trailer points out the 'emotion and intensity' the franchise has started to pick up on.
Whilst the new changes to crowd and player emotions isn't exactly a huge gameplay feature, it's nice to see just how far the franchise has come in terms of capturing the spirit that many fans and players experience on the real pitch.
Unsurprisingly, Lionel Messi will make it to the front cover box art for FIFA 15, for many regions across the globe.
Despite showing some great advancements in crowd and player behaviour in the latest trailer for FIFA 15, EA have also stated that not all platforms will offer the same experience, which is most likely due to both hardware limitations and console exclusivity deals.
For example, only Xbox consoles will receive FIFA 15 Ultimate Legends, which

The divide between last gen and current gen consoles has been a problem for many. It's stopped friends from playing with one another, forced developers to develop for multiple platforms, and overall it's been a transition that's slow and frustrating to go through.
Despite this, it isn't entirely possible for developers to make the multiplayer portion of the games compatible with one another. For example, Final Fantasy: A Realm Reborn already combines both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 players into the same server.
However, the reasons behind a lack of cross-platform support is rarely down to technicalities, and usually more to do with player equality and fairness. This is certainly the case with Bungie, who have recently confirmed that cross-platform play wasn't going to happen with Destiny.
Whilst it is possible to allow PS3 players to play alongside those on a PS4, Bungie don't want PS3 players to feel like they have a considerable disadvantage over PS4 players
