On June 24th we blogged about the possibilities of a Modern Warfare 3 survival mode, and since E3 the hype about this new mode has been brewing. Recently a game play video of MW3s survival mode has given us a whole new perception of its possibilities. The video is basically a walkthrough of all the options and perks associated with the survival mode. Ladies and Gentlemen, I am proud to say that it is going to be absolutely amazing; it is a whole new way to enjoy the weapons, perks, and game play of Modern Warfare games.
It is exactly as you would have imagined, with some twists here and there. Survival mode is a wave defense game type in which you accumulate money, purchase new devices, and outlast the hordes of enemies as long as you can. It also appears (from the video) that you can gain XP and level up while playing survival mode, which

I am having a hard time containing my excitement about Polish developer Flying Wild Hogs new game Hard Reset. With very little hype surrounding the game, and limited information it is hard to imagine that it is due to be released in September this year. Hard Reset is PC exclusive, and normally developers will pour at least a year of hype into new games before their release. The lack of community buzz, however, is not a comment on the games quality or superior development.
Currently there are a limited source of screenshots, one game play trailer, and one teaser trailer. Hard Reset is running a hard PR campaign that will only last the three months before its release in September.

The newly released trailer for Rage gives gamers an in depth look into the post-apocalyptic shooters amazing details and game play. The trailer begins with a quote from famous author Nathaniel Hawthorne, The fiend in his own shape is less hideous than when he rages in the breast of men. I found this to not only be incredibly true, but a great definition of where Rage is going to take gamers.
Rage immerses gamers into a post-apocalyptic world overrun by war and conflicting factions. The details of the game paint the world as a society with futuristic technology that has

Zombies mode for Call of Duty: Black Ops has seen a large series of updates during this year, and on August 23rd the public gets the opportunity to download five more maps. I have been consistently playing Shangri La, and I still havent mastered the maps tricks and Easter eggs. This being said, I might have to put my efforts on the Shangri La map on hold for the new Rezurrection downloadable content package.
Rezurrection is a collection of the four original zombie maps from World at War, Nacht der Untoten. Verruckt. Shi No Numa. and Der Riese, plus an all new map called Moon. These remakes should be an excellent addition to Black Ops sterling record of zombie annihilation. I personally enjoyed the original zombie maps, and I cannot wait to see them updated and outfitted for Black Ops game play.
The map

It is nearly impossible to predict where the gaming industry is headed in the next ten years, let alone the next couple. Advancements that astonish the industry seem to get released every year, changing the way we play, and the way in which games are made.
Euclideon, an Australia based tech company, is developing a new way to map and design fully functioning game graphics. The traditional method includes building maps out of a large series polygons, which make the 3-D gaming environment. Euclideon, however, has found a way to convert polygons into point cloud data. This is a method of mapping 3-D objects with atoms instead of hard-edged polygons, making the detail on the gaming environment up to 100,000 times more detailed than polygon technology.
Being a small developer, Euclideon does not have the resources of big

The Gears of War franchise has a new addition, and a new way of engaging the Locust horde in combat. Gears of War: The Board Game is expected to be out sometime this year, and was designed by Corey Konieczka, who helped create the Starcraft board games.
The board game allows you to play with up to three other friends, and recreates classic battles from Gears of War and Gears of War 2. The game play includes seven different missions, the ability to choose the COG soldier of your choice, and randomized battle movements. It is an exciting new addition to the GoW experience, and we are excited to get to see the game in person.
It is another reminder

We can all remember family game nights, and one of the staple games for these occasions in my family was Battleship. It is a game that has been played by a huge part of the population and has been enjoyed for decades. The game has gone through many changes over the years, with the addition of built in sound effects, light up boards, and new game rules. This year however the game is taking on a form it has not previously extended into.
The teaser trailer for a Battleship movie features Liam Neeson, Taylor Kitsch, and Rihanna, and the movie is due to be released in 2012. This debuts a new twist on the classic board game. The movie will not follow the traditional game play, but the concept of naval warfare is the central theme of the movie.

Battlefield 3 has a new official video online displaying some of the new multiplayer game play. The video is a kill montage from the DICEs newest first-person shooter, and the sequences shown are more than impressive.
The graphics resemble movie quality action, while remaining true to the Battlefield aesthetic established in earlier titles. The newly released game play best exemplifies the fast paced, chaotic action that previous Battlefield games are famous for.
One of the opening sequences shows soldiers rushing past a tank that is firing upon enemy positions. It confirms that DICE has once again created a first-person shooter that expands the scope of the online multiplayer experience.

Final Fantasy XIII-2
As most of you know, Final Fantasy XIII-2 was announced to the public a while back. It is a sequel to Final Fantasy XIII. However, it is said that it will surpass Final Fantasy XIII in almost every feature. It has a much more evolved battle system than any other Final Fantasy.
