Gearbox Software gives away free copies of Borderlands 2 at their PAX panel.
Randy Pitchford and the rest of the top staff of Gearbox Software decided to give a surprise for everyone who attended their panel at Pax Prime last week. It wasn't a preview on any new content for the first Borderlands nor was it free convention-only DLC content. They pulled off an Oprah and gave everyone in the audience

Hype for the upcoming Battlefield 3 release gets an added boost today, as the Physical Warfare Pack Trailer has been posted across the Internet. The newest Battlefield 3 promotional release highlights some of the games newest weapon classes, and demonstrates their devastating impact. EA is trying to demonstrate the intensive thought that went into making the game, and with recent increases in competition between EA and Activision this trailer is meant to display the best attributes of Battlefield 3.
Three devastating weapons are highlighted by the video, and I must admit that the game play and weapon classes are more than impressive; they are downright amazing. The type 88 LMG is introduced by a drop shot accompanied by at least a quad spray, and the weapon features a high rate of fire

More industry combativeness surrounds the November releases of EAs Battlefield 3 and Activisions Call of Duty 3, and the competition between developers has never been more deeply rooted. The newest comments presented by an EA spokesperson, Jeff Brown, marks EAs distinct goal of dethroning the Call of Duty franchise from the military shooter category,
Last year Activision had a 90 share in the shooter category. This year,Battlefield 3 is going to take you down to 60 or 70. At that rate, you'll be out of the category in 2-3 years. If you don't believe me, go to the store and try to buy a copy ofGuitar Hero orTony Hawk.

id Software states that you must buy a new Rage if you want to use the sewers.
A number of publishers are cutting off game content with things like online passes (one-time use code that be generally unavailable to those who buy any game used). Usually this cuts off things like online multiplayer or highly praised game content. In this case, Rage won't.

If you are planning on delving into the pending Battlefield 3 on your computer you will need to create an Origin account. Origin is Electronic Arts digital distributing application, and is the largest competitor for Steam, who it has been confirmed will not be offering Battlefield 3. This should not be a huge surprise for gamers, and personally the move by DICE and EA makes a lot of sense.
Origin offers a wide range of gaming opportunities for PC dedicated gamers, and is an excellent host for Battlefield 3 when it finally becomes available on October 25th. The multi-platform title is set to be Modern Warfares largest competitor, and already gaming

I am having a hard time containing my excitement about Polish developer Flying Wild Hogs new game Hard Reset. With very little hype surrounding the game, and limited information it is hard to imagine that it is due to be released in September this year. Hard Reset is PC exclusive, and normally developers will pour at least a year of hype into new games before their release. The lack of community buzz, however, is not a comment on the games quality or superior development.
Currently there are a limited source of screenshots, one game play trailer, and one teaser trailer. Hard Reset is running a hard PR campaign that will only last the three months before its release in September.

It is nearly impossible to predict where the gaming industry is headed in the next ten years, let alone the next couple. Advancements that astonish the industry seem to get released every year, changing the way we play, and the way in which games are made.
Euclideon, an Australia based tech company, is developing a new way to map and design fully functioning game graphics. The traditional method includes building maps out of a large series polygons, which make the 3-D gaming environment. Euclideon, however, has found a way to convert polygons into point cloud data. This is a method of mapping 3-D objects with atoms instead of hard-edged polygons, making the detail on the gaming environment up to 100,000 times more detailed than polygon technology.
Being a small developer, Euclideon does not have the resources of big

Sony has recently bought the game developer Sucker Punch, who is behind the hit game inFamous. Sucker Punch, an independent studio has been consistently involved with game projects for Sony over the past ten years. Their recent acquisition by Sony reflects the positive relationship the two companies have built over the years.
Former employees of Microsoft founded Sucker Punch in 1997 as an independent game developer. They achieved early success with Sly Cooper, and the subsequent franchise that ensued for the Playstation 2 and Playstation 3. After passing the control of Sly Copper to Sanzaru Games, they dedicated their time to inFamous, which has had huge success with the

Hey gamers! So with the end of summer approaching we cant blame you if you are trying to squeeze in as many hours of game time as possible. School can really get in the way of prestige mode and accordingly you are trying to game as hard as you can before the inevitable beginning of school. I personally have been playing Ocarina of Time again with the impending start of the new semester (its a yearly tradition of mine).
So, I can understand the sentiment of non-stop gaming before homework and studying starts to eat up more time than the online gaming communities can. This being said, it is important to game hard but more important to game smart!
