I've said it before and I'll say it again- This year has been an absolutely amazing year for gaming. It kicked off with BioShock Infinite and Tomb Raider, both of which are amazing titles with beautifully compelling single player story lines.
We've seen God of War, and Injustice, Metro: Last Light, Remember Me, and of course The Last of Us.
The Last of Us has so far been the king of this year's releases though. The game has managed to amass an amazing 3.4 million sales already, with the release being less than a month ago. Tomb Raider managed to hit that in four weeks, and despite it being a great game, it seems the excitement and hype leading towards the Last of Us has lead the game into an amazing pit of success. It's even more amazing to think that this game is PS3-only.
Of course we have some more titles gearing up for release later this year, and I would be surprised if Grand Theft Auto 5 doesn't take the 'fastest seller' title straight out of The Last of Us' hands.

Having multiple consoles in the market can be a pain sometimes - obnoxious fanboyism, the inability to play online with friends on a different console, and of course gameplay differences in games.
Luckily though, Rockstar's upcoming Grand Theft Auto 5 will be virtually the same game on both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. The new GTA has been confirmed to be a very big game, so it's easy to assume there may be gameplay differences between the two consoles because of the lack of powerful hardware.
Rockstar has made the announcement, stating "Players can expect the same great gameplay experience on both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms as they have both been developed in tandem."
"Like all of our games, trust that we're committed to making sure Grand Theft Auto V looks and runs as great as possible regardless of whether you pick it up for PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, and we are excited for fans on both platforms to experience Grand Theft Auto V this September.

You may have seen a lot of hype for the OUYA, a small console that can be held in your palm and runs off of the Android operating system, the same OS that Samsung's Galaxy phones are based on.
Surprisingly, this small console managed to rack in millions from crowdfunding on kickstarter, and the company has been busy since then signing deals with game developers and manufacturing enough consoles to meet the demand that has been set out.
Finally though, the OUYA is now available to purchase by anybody worldwide, and can be picked up off of the website.
Whilst the OUYA console is miles behind the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in terms of hardware performance and gaming quality, the small box offers a bit of gaming for just $99.
The console includes a dashboard that can be used to download free games- these games will be similar to the kind of games you can get on Android devices- so expect a lot of arcade-type gaming.
Is the OUYA something you'd be interested

Thanks to the improved hardware in the PlayStation 4, we'll be able to witness a whole lot more in our gameplay than the PlayStation 3 previously allowed us to.
One good example of this is in infamous: Second Son, a game that Sucker Punch has recently revealed will be capable of keeping track of the things you destroy in-game, meaning that when you come back, that damage will still be there.
This new capability is possible largely to the GDDR5 8GB RAM found in the PlayStation 4, which is miles apart from the PS3's tiny 512MB DDR3 RAM.
Sucker Punch has said "it was very difficult in a PlayStation 3 timeframe, where you don't have enough RAM to store information about every object in the whole universe. The areas would just be refreshed when you leave and come back. But now we have a lot more to work with."
Personally I think this is great progress for gaming and I can't wait for InFamous: SS.

Destiny will have different graphics for different platforms according to Harold Ryan, Bungie's president.
He didn't state what that meant between each platform, but it's obviously clear that the older generation consoles, the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360, will have worse graphics than newer generation Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
He didn't state whether there would be any difference between the PS4 and Xbox One, and instead said "We're not committing right now to any specific platform features. The great thing for us with timing is that we were making a new engine, and then two new consoles were coming out, which led us to invest more into making the new engine for it.
"There are a whole bunch of great opportunities for us to go after, like full player experiences, etc. We're investigating all of those and building the core experience of Destiny, which will be similar across all the platforms. The graphics are different,

Whilst firmware updates are usually made for fixing bugs and issues on a system, there are times when a new bug goes unnoticed and slips into the firmware update. It seems a new update for the PlayStation 3, update 4.45, is causing issues for some people.
Plenty of people are complaining that after downloading the update and rebooting their consoles, the console will then freeze every time it tries to turn on.
Instead of showing the normal user interface, people have reported that the console shows strange wavy lines but never gets to the main interface.
If you downloaded the new 4.45 firmware update, Sony has a new update to fix the error coming out on the 27th.

So, although the gameplay in the Last of Us is super crisp and refined, there seems to be a bug or two astray, and one of them could end up destroying a big chunk of your fun.
The most potent glitch involves the autosave feature when playing online and can wind you up with a saved file that could have been made many hours of playtime beforehand.
When the game autosaves whilst you are playing online, it can in essence 'get stuck' meaning the save won't happen, and instead of stating when it last made a save on the menu it would be stuck saying 'autosaving, please wait.'
Players have reported that they've lost many hours of gameplay due to this problem.
Naughty Dog has responded to their players stating that- "the autosave issue was a problem w/ our servers. No patch needed to fix it, just re-launch the game. Thanks again :)" and have since worked on a fix that won’t need a patch to be applied to the game. If you don't want to risk losing your progress though,

So far, the Last of Us has looked like a promising game, a very promising game.
Over the past week or two we've had scores coming in from various professional sources, and so far reviews have been stellar.
EDGE Magazine has recently given their score as well, rating Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us a solid 10 out of 10, making it the 15th game to ever be scored a full 10 from EDGE.
OPM UK Magazine also gave Naughty Dog a 10/10 for The Last of Us, stating that the game is "A work of art in which amazing sights and sounds fuel an emotionally draining, constantly compelling end of days adventure. This is Naughty Dog pushing the PS3 to its limit. Over to your PS4."
With Tomb Raider, Bioshock: Infinite and now the Last of Us, it's certainly been a successful year from some of our favorite games and developers, and we can only hope the same will continue through the year till the release of GTA V, a game that is almost guaranteed to score highly in reviews.

Whilst the Sony E3 press release, a place where we'll see the PlayStation 4 in all its glory for the first time is only just later today, we thought it'd be worth looking at a fan made concept design of the PlayStation 4. The Reddit user took lots of screens of the teaser video to help piece together what he thinks the PlayStation 4 may end up looking like.
The Reddit user went onto describing his design, saying that "I rendered these a few weeks ago but didn't have the time to post these until now. Was finishing my bachelor in Graphic Design."
The Reddit user got inspiration from Albino-Zebra's rendering and decided to have a shot at himself for the PlayStation 4.
He then took inspiration from other renders and the teaser video to make his own, using plenty of ideas to fuel his imagination.
Overall, the design looks like a more squared out version of the PlayStation 3, with a nice strip of cobalt blue going through the middle of the design.

Minecraft managed to land a huge amount of sales on the Xbox platform, but since then, talk of moving the popular game to PlayStation has been pretty quiet. However, Sony has very recently sent Notch, the main developer of Minecraft, a golden PSOne as 'special VIP pass' to E3. On top of this, Notch also got sent a copy of Dungeon Master 2 to play on the console.
Could this mean anything past the fact that Sony want Notch to come and view them reveal more information about the PlayStation 4? - Probably very likely. But what could the reason be for Notch's VIP pass? The first thing that comes to mind is that Minecraft will be revealed for the PlayStation, but whether that's for PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 3 is currently unknown.
It would make sense that Minecraft was put out for both platforms as it would allow players to play Minecraft whether they are on the new console or the old one.
Another possibility is that Notch may be teaming up with Sony
