I've said it before and I'll say it again- This year has been an absolutely amazing year for gaming. It kicked off with BioShock Infinite and Tomb Raider, both of which are amazing titles with beautifully compelling single player story lines.
We've seen God of War, and Injustice, Metro: Last Light, Remember Me, and of course The Last of Us.
The Last of Us has so far been the king of this year's releases though. The game has managed to amass an amazing 3.4 million sales already, with the release being less than a month ago. Tomb Raider managed to hit that in four weeks, and despite it being a great game, it seems the excitement and hype leading towards the Last of Us has lead the game into an amazing pit of success. It's even more amazing to think that this game is PS3-only.
Of course we have some more titles gearing up for release later this year, and I would be surprised if Grand Theft Auto 5 doesn't take the 'fastest seller' title straight out of The Last of Us' hands.

Whilst Sony has promised that they will reveal the release date for the PlayStation 4 at this year's Gamescom, it looks as if we may not need to wait to find out from Sony themselves.
We'll probably see all kind of leaks and screw-ups from various retailers across the board before Gamescom, and Wal-Mart have already done just that.
On the PlayStation 4 pre-order page in the item description section it says that "The PS4 console will ship free on release date this November."
Another date on the same page says that the console will ship by 12/31/2012, but it's most likely this second date is simply a placeholder.
It looks as if a November release sounds likely - this allows for customers to purchase the consoles in time for Christmas, but just in time for Black Friday.
Many gamers have talked on different forums and blogs and a lot of them have the feeling that the console won't even make it to shelves by release because of such a high demand for the console.

Having multiple consoles in the market can be a pain sometimes - obnoxious fanboyism, the inability to play online with friends on a different console, and of course gameplay differences in games.
Luckily though, Rockstar's upcoming Grand Theft Auto 5 will be virtually the same game on both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. The new GTA has been confirmed to be a very big game, so it's easy to assume there may be gameplay differences between the two consoles because of the lack of powerful hardware.
Rockstar has made the announcement, stating "Players can expect the same great gameplay experience on both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms as they have both been developed in tandem."
"Like all of our games, trust that we're committed to making sure Grand Theft Auto V looks and runs as great as possible regardless of whether you pick it up for PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, and we are excited for fans on both platforms to experience Grand Theft Auto V this September.

It's been a while since EPIC Games has shown us something new, and seeing Unreal Tournament and Gears of War coming from them has really made me excited for what the future could hold for this development team.
Two new job openings on EPIC Game's website could be pointing at new IP the development team may be working on.
One job posting for a technical artist states "to work on multiple new and existing IP's across multiple platforms." The job would involve attacking the more complex issues that arise when we push the technology envelope, both in production on current hardware, and prototyping for next-generation hardware."
The second job posting gives away a little bit more information, and is for a systems designer position. The job posting is looking for those that can "work with the tools and technology that are shaping the next generation of games" on "an unannounced competitive online action game that includes player progression, heavy itemization, and a dynamic

Two years in a row now, Ubisoft has taken the stage to show off the wonders of Watch_Dogs. From what we've seen the game looks spectacular, and it's been shown off as a game that gives players an unprecedented amount of choice when it comes to playing through the game and making decisions that can affect gameplay.
The footage we've seen has been so impressive that a lot of gamers have been curious to know whether the game footage used was real gameplay or whether it was just scripted to give out a certain feel to the game.
It's been done in the past where a development team will show off a game at E3, and then a year or two later upon its release, the actual game looks and plays a whole lot different than the game we expected after seeing the E3 footage.
According to Ubisoft's Danny Belanger though, everything shown off at E3 is gameplay footage representative of the final game. Danny Belanger said that "There are many questions about the systemic or scripted nature

If you haven't taken any of your leisurely time to wreak havoc through Grand Theft Auto 3 in an almost indestructible tank, I am sure there are many out there that will tell you you've missed out.
In Grand Theft Auto 3, police were easy to outrun, and your damage really had no long-lasting effect on the game world. Of course, this year, hardware is much more capable than PlayStation 2 hardware, and we'll be able to get a lot more gameplay mechanics involved in games.
One of these will be the new addition of better cop AI- according to GameStop, their driving skills will now be very advanced, so expect all kinds of PIT maneuvers and driving tactics to get you safely off the road.
If you don't want the cops hot on your tale, you'll be able to get the attention of rival gangs that have nothing better to do than fight with rival gangs, giving you a perfect amount of time to drive half way across the GTAV world if you need to.
The official description was, "In GTAV,

Guerrilla Games has recently confirmed that you will be able to customize your own personal weapons in the upcoming Killzone: Shadow Fall. This will mark the reintroduction of weapon attachments to the Killzone series, and players will be able to add custom attachments to weapons like the Helghast StA-55 assault rifle and the StA-52 rifle.
Roy Postma, Killzone: Shadow Fall's art director has said a few things on the subject, and discussed the inclusion of an attachment system.
"It's still the same work horse of the Helghast, doing the same thing: a high fire rate with a big magazine in a nice, compact package. It's the perfect all-round weapon if you don't require high accuracy. So there are no new surprises on the weapon in terms of functionality. The biggest functional change, and one that is not limited to the StA-55, is the reintroduction of attachments. We can switch out various sights and optics, secondary weapon attachments, grips, flashlights, silencers – you

If you're looking forward to Gran Turismo 6, then you should probably go and check out the playable demo that arrived this July 2nd.
On the demo you'll be able to race on the brand new track, Silverstone Circuit, a new previously confirmed location for Gran Turismo 6. This will be the only track available on the demo, and there will be a few different challenges to try on the track. This includes five time trials based around the Silverstone Circuit, which players will be able to attempt with three different vehicles, the Nissan Leaf, the Nissan 370Z and the GT-R.
On top of this, players will be able to try their best on the Silverstone Circuit and then register their best time for the GT Academy Competition, a contest that has been going since 2008 that gives players a chance to race to the top spot and win the chance at being a real Nissan motorsport driver. The cutoff for getting the best time for that ends 28th July but players can still play the

After hearing about the specifics on hardware for the next gen consoles, and learning that the PlayStation 4 has a very promising 8GB of GDDR5 RAM, many have discussed whether games on the PlayStation 4 will have differences to their Xbox One counterparts.
One game that has been involved hotly in this topic is Watch_Dogs, a new open-world game by Ubisoft that looks absolutely incredible.
Ubisoft have addressed many gamer's curiosities this week though, stating that "The Xbox One is a powerful platform, as of now we do not foresee a major difference in on screen result between the PS4 and the Xbox One. Obviously we are still working on pushing the game on these new consoles, we are still doing R&D."
"This said, the platforms have some specificity that we are leveraging. For example, we are making use of the touchpad on the DualShock 4."
The developers behind Watch_Dogs seem to be very
