Dead Island Causes a Stir
Recently the video game industry has received quite a bashing for various reasons: rise in anti-social behavior, gun crimes, mass shootings, and a lot of analysts are looking at violent video games as the main cause.
It is true that video games have become increasingly violent over the years, but it becomes a touchy subject when you put a video game as the cause of a mass murder instead of something like lack of social support and medical attention for the culprit.
But anyway, let's not get into the politics of it too deeply, enough websites have had their say on the topic as it is. What is interesting though, is that Dead Island's new collector's

New Halo 4 Playlists
Frank O'Connor has taken a look back at the trials and tribulations of Halo 4 in 2012, and is both proud and excited for what's to come next.
"We made a lot of mistakes....There are a ton of things we wish we'd done better: Features that didn't make it into the final game. Glitches that emerged. Missteps made. DLC fiascos. Communication breakdowns, but there were things that went astonishingly well - the creation of a genuinely competitive AAA studio chief among them. A collection of talent and souls that can do something genuinely amazing on this and next-generation hardware."
Halo 4 has seen a successful year despite a few hiccups from the new developer,

New IP from Dead Space Devs
The gaming world has known for quite some while that Visceral Games, developers of the Dead Space series, has had a new IP up its sleeve ready to play at any time, and although previously all we knew about the game was that it was 'a thrilling online action shooter heavily backed by EA leadership,' we now have a little more potential information about the game thanks to a career listing from Visceral.
"We are seeking an experienced Multiplayer Level Designer with shooter expertise at the Visceral Redwood Shores Studio. This is a major opportunity to contribute creatively to an exciting new IP."
Obviously this could mean anything but an FPS,

Sony may show PS4 to Publishers
There's no doubt about it; the next generation is coming. When and where though is a subject that little know about. Sony however have planned a two-day event following the annual 'Destination PlayStation,' a conference held by PlayStation's US arm for third party publishers and a few retailers that could potentially sell upcoming products. The annual event has been known in the past to reveal big new products behind Sony's PlayStation range behind closed doors.
This event happens to be just a few weeks before E3, an event where Sony may or may not reveal details on their latest console.
Although this year's Destination PlayStation may focus on other products such as the Vita,

Ghost Recon Movie
We all know that Ubisoft has become one of the biggest and most multi-talented successful developers and publisher of this generation, bringing us games like Splinter Cell, Assassins' Creed, and of course Ghost Recon.
The big games company is now planning to move their assets into Hollywood, with plans of producing a Ghost Recon movie. This follows on from the news of a Splinter Cell and Assassins' Creed movie release as well.
LA Times had recently reported that Jean-Julien Baronnet has been creating a pitch for Ghost Recon, hoping to get some attention within the media industry, and pull in a reputable Hollywood production company to help promote the title.
There aren't any details on how real the Ghost Recon movie is, or what the actual plotline for it could be, but judging by the video game franchise, it'll include a lot of action scenes and a lot of highly geared up future soldiers.
Video game movies have never really

New Doom
It happened before with the current generation: a classic arcade shooter was remade and redefined for the Xbox, and it could happen again. Doom 3 didn't gain as much success as expected though, particularly for the reason that the arcade shooter style of the game has now become a rather 'niche' genre. However, that hasn't stopped many getting excited for what could possibly turn out to be the next in the series.
There's two causes for the rumors to spread about Doom 4, one of which was located on Lead Programmer of ID Software, Brian Hill's LinkedIn profile stated that he was 'the lead behind Doom 4,' giving fans a huge hint that the fourth installment is coming, however it was unknown for what platform, and when.
Recently, Brian Hill took to his Twitter to send out a tweet that Doom fans had also picked apart as something regarding development for the fourth Doom game.
"Currently home taking care of a new baby girl. When I get back, I'll

Final Skyrim DLC?
Rumors have started to spread, and they're related to yet another DLC title release for Skyrim, a game that has now been over-packed with extra content and features. Recent activity from Zenimax, Bethesda's mother company, hints at some kind of Redguard related release.
For two years now, Zenimax has been renewing a trademark for the word 'Redguard' with the description of a "downloadable computer game software offered via the internet and wireless devices" so although it's not certain that a Redguard DLC will hit in the future, a lot of Skyrim fans believe this to be the case, and following on from Bethesda's December 2012 statement, which said they had 'more stuff' on the way for all players in 2013, it seems to make a lot of sense.
Other possibilities could be that the Redguard related content could be for a new game ready for next-gen consoles, or even something tied to Elder Scrolls Online, an upcoming MMO developed by Zenimax software.
