Summer is now fully underway, and most gamers have sunk their teeth into whatever they can get their hands on. Here is a quick rundown of observations I have made of the current gaming world. E3 released lots of exciting news and at the forefront for me, is the battle between Modern Warfare 3 vs Battlefield 3, and exactly how cool is PS Vita going to be? As graphically appealing as Battlefield 3 looks, I still cant help but shake the feeling that what it boils down to is a preference in gameplay, and Call of Duty has become just too familiar for most gamers to let go of just yet.
My neighbors across the hall have been playing way WAY too much Dirt 3, but Im sure that will end when Forza 4 comes out. If PS Vita was cool enough to make me not feel so bad about skipping out on the Ocarina of Time remake that exploded onto the 3DS. I mean that as a serious game title to compete against, and nothing in PS Vitas lineup looks as impressive as perhaps

Wii U
There are lots of reasons to be excited with all of the new games, and technology being released at the 2011 E3 convention. Personally, I am extremely amped about the new Nintendo products that have made their debut at E3, continuing along line of great products and games. The biggest release for Nintendo has been the Wii U, which from demo trailers looks to be very enticing.
The Wii U utilizes both your television screen and a streamline touch screen remote to offer a unique gaming experience. It is set to be released in 2012,and I cannot wait to get my hands on the new console. The

So there have been quite a few exciting things that have been released at E3 thus far. Nintendo hasa new console called the Wii U, they don't have the best track record with core gamers, but only time will tell if this console can live up to what we expect from our consoles.Sony has a sweet new portable that is called the PlayStation Vita, not the NGP.Yes, Vita is latin for the word life, which is exactly what the console will bring to them following all the drama of the PlayStation Network closing.By the way, there were no hackers at all, at least according to Anonymous. It was really just that Sony was having problems with their servers. But alas, Sony has new life through Vita, and for half the cost of what the PSP did, you get something that looks truly special.
However, so far in my opinion it is still Microsoft who has released the biggest news, even without the creation of a new console.Halo 4 was announced at E3 and it looks to be the first

As of this Tuesday, Nintendo confirmed that the first-day 3DS sales in the United States were the highest ever for any Nintendo hand-held system. Unfortunately, however, no exact numbers were released and wont be released until early to mid April (which, I guess isnt that far away, even though it sure feels like it), when they announce the first-week US sales.
The 3DS, which launched on the 27th in the United States, sold a hefty amount through preorders, which apparently doubled the amount of preorders for the Wii on Amazon. The 3DS also came with about 30 new titles released as well, including:
Asphalt 3D (Ubisoft)
Bust-a-Move Universe (Square Enix)
Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D (Ubisoft)

Hirai to favored be next CEO of Sony.
The man who basically made a internet meme of himself at E3 back in 2006(you don't remember? here's a hint: "Riiiiiiiiidge Raceeeeeeeeeeeer!"), Kaz Hiraiis likely to be the next in line for Sony CEO, replacing Ken Kutaragi. Seen here on this Joystiq article, it's being reported that a corporate realignment will have Mr. Hirai be named as an "executive deputy president". In addition to the realignment, he will be heading up Sony's consumer products

Could the Xbox 720 be on its way? (Note: Thats not the actual name, just a cheesy intro. Dont quote me.) But, apparently, recently a few job postings have been surfacing on LinkedIn looking to hire positions that would entail working on the architecture for the next-generation Xbox console.
Postings listed openings for a Graphics Architect position working with Xbox hardware, hoping for someone to lead a team that would be responsible for defining and delivering next generation console architectures from conception through implementation. Another position open is that of Senior Engineer, looking for someone to work on the development and verification of current and future Xbox platforms. A third posting announced an opening for a Senior Performance Architect who would be responsible for product definition throughout the entire process from beginning to end.
All of this information was compiled and speculated
