Microsoft Studios Vice President Phil Spencer seems to be keen on making sure the availability of the Xbox One is a whole lot better than it was for the 360 on its launch date. The most important part of this, at least in Phil Spencer's eyes is that it should be easy for those who didn't think to pre-order to be able to go in-store and buy a readily available Xbox One on launch day.
"Availability should feel a lot better than it did for 360. If people want to pick up more controllers and games, they'll be there. We feel really good about our pre-order number, and we're managing it through allocation rather than demand." Phil Spencer said in an interview to Game Informer "Pre-Order isn't the business. It's way more important to me what happens when people walk in the store. The business is selling consoles."
This is good news amid fears that even the so-far less popular choice for gamers could be out

If it matters to you, you'll be happy to hear that Microsoft has changed their Xbox Marketplace to something that sounds a little more playful. Starting from today the Xbox Marketplace will now be called the Xbox Games Store.
This follows on from a few changes that are happening to the digital Xbox Games store to make it ready for the introduction of the Xbox One. This includes a transition from Microsoft Points to real life currencies which has happened recently.
The changes won't really make much of a difference on a visual side, however Microsoft are still striding to make as many changes to the user interface on the Xbox 360 to make it feel more modernized and minimalistic with its square Windows 8 tile design.
When the Xbox One hits, the transition from the Xbox 360 will probably be very easy because the evolved design of the user interface on the Xbox 360 will end up very similar to the interface that will be found on the

Recently we discussed 343 Industries strange way of saying "This is the next Halo, but it isn't actually going to be called Halo 5." After this point a lot of us decided to go ahead and accept that the first Halo game on the Xbox One might not be called Halo 5.
No one is really bothered about such a trivial thing, but a new leaked trailer seems to show that the next game will in fact be called Halo 5. The trailer shown is the same one as before, however this time round it ends with a Halo 5 logo being shown.
The new trailer shown is made by the same animation studio, Axis Animation, as before. Axis Animation seemed to have just edited the previous version to add Halo 5 onto the ending cutscene, although there doesn't seem to be any real reason for it.
This leaked video could of perhaps been made before Microsoft decided to change the new Halo's name into something other than Halo 5.
Regardless of the name of the next Halo,

Quite a bit happened at Gamescom, but I was most interested in what games and consoles would receive rewards at the Gamescom 2013 Awards. This is especially interesting to find out because of the next gen console war around the corner, and the results were what many had already expected.
In the official Gamescom Awards 2013, a lot of different categories were announced. Most of the awards were already expected to win, so there really wasn't many surprises. At the forefront of the awards, Titanfall managed to bag both the best Xbox One game, and the best next generation game.
On top of this, the PlayStation 4 managed to grab the 'best hardware incl peripheral' title, leaving the Xbox One behind in the dust.
Interestingly, Forza Motorsport 5, and not Drive Club, managed to grab the best racing game award.
Destiny seemed to hold the most awards out of every winner though, and the game won Best console game on PlayStation,

Microsoft revealed at this year's Gamescom 2013 the release day launch titles that will be available to purchase on the day of the Xbox One Launch.
There seems to be a mix of various different games including Xbox One exclusive games, next gen exclusives, older gen games that will make their way to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 first, and even a Kinect game, despite rumors that there weren't going to be any Kinect games at launch.
There is a wide range of games to enjoy as well, including a mix or racers, sports games, action and FPS games, as well as other more arcadey and family friendly games.
Here is a compiled list of all of the games available at launch from Microsoft's statement on their website:
Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag (Ubisoft, Ubisoft)
Battlefield 4 (DICE, Electronic Arts)
Call of Duty: Ghosts (Infinity Ward, Activision)
Crimson Dragon (Grounding/Land Ho!, Microsoft Studios)
Dead Rising 3 (Capcom -

Sony finally revealed all about the PlayStation 4 this week at Gamescom 2013. Representatives took to the stage to discuss new features such as the social sharing button and video game streaming partnerships and then went on to announce the release date for the PlayStation 4 console.
Whilst Microsoft failed to reveal any more details on their next gen console the Xbox One, Sony was enthusiastic to give fans peace of mind by announcing the release day for the PlayStation 4 in different regions.
The PlayStation 4 will be launched in a total of 32 countries this year (almost three times as many as Microsoft's 13 for the Xbox One) and will reach stores and homes on 15th November in the United States and 29th November in Europe.
Other dates have not yet been revealed.
Sony also announced plans to help gamers transition from one generation to the other by offering discounts on games when a gamer already owns a current gen version. For example,

Well, well well, it looks as if Microsoft has completely made a turning point on their new Xbox One. Now, not only can you use the Xbox without a constant internet connection, but we can now play the next gen Xbox console without the kinect entirely.
This change has come about after privacy concerns were made public due to the worry that Microsoft or a malicious third party could sneak in and watch your living room at any time.
Coupled with the always on internet, an always 'kinected' camera could only spell trouble in the eyes of those that take care of their own privacy, but luckily all of the DRM features have been removed, and now the Kinect always-connected rule has been removed.
Currently there still isn't an Xbox One with a Kinect not included and Microsoft still believe strongly in the success of the party peripheral, but perhaps we'll see a cheaper SKU without the Kinect 2.0 bundled in the future.
For those already interested in getting a PS4, if you

Gamescom is very close now and I expect we'll see and learn a lot from the gaming event, but what can we expect to learn about the new Xbox One and PlayStation 4 at this year's Gamescom?
Firstly, we're all expecting to learn about the launch date of the PlayStation 4- we're all hoping for a 2013 release and many rumors have lead many of us to believe a November release date is most likely. Hopefully we'll find out just when we'll be able to get our hands on a brand new PlayStation 4 very soon.
We may also be given a look into when the Xbox One will be released. Recent rumors seem to point towards the Xbox One being pushed back a little bit and everyone is uncertain whether we'll see an Xbox One this year or not.
We're also going to be hearing about a deal that will bundle a third party game with the Xbox One launch edition without bumping up the price at all. At Gamescom we'll be able to find exactly what this game is and if it will make up for
