Anybody remember the announcement for Overkill's The Walking Dead game? It was quite some time ago, but it excited the entire gaming industry.
Unfortunately, Overkill's The Walking Dead has now been delayed even further and we're unlikely to see a release date until 2018. The estimated release window for the game has now been set for the second half of 2018 by the development team behind the project.
For those unaware, Overkill is the same team behind the popular Payday franchise. Payday 2 currently sits at roughly 10,000 peak concurrent users on Steam each day. Overkill hopes to create a game for The Walking Dead that incorporates co-op gameplay, storytelling, and robust level design that will help to heighten the game's replay value.
While the delay is bad news for those hoping to get their hands on a new The Walking Dead game, it shows the developers aren't stuck to any time restrictions, so the end product should hopefully be well polished and closer to their initial

It has been 5 years since the last Darksiders game got a release. After a long wait, a Darksiders 3 trailer has hit the internet and everybody is getting very excited.
THQ Nordic has confirmed that Darksiders 3 will be making its way to the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC in 2018.
The THQ Nordic CEO, Lars Wingefors, mentioned that "As promised, we have taken our time to ensure that this next Darksiders will be everything action-adventure gamers and especially Darksiders loyalists could dream of and more."
In the past 5 years, action adventure games have evolved. In many thanks to the Dark Souls franchise, action adventure games have become one of the most grueling, difficult genres available - we're hoping THQ Nordic will take some inspiration from some of the latest and greatest games in the genre to re-imagine the Darksiders 3 franchise, while still sticking close to the series' roots.
Alongside the recent trailer, THQ Nordic has released some information about

Codemasters has released a brand new trailer for their upcoming racing game, Dirt 4, and it already looks absolutely spectacular.
The trailer is only a minute long, but it does show off some good in-game footage from some off-road tracks, as well as some more traditional off-road racing spots. The game also features the song Instigators by Grace Potter - we feel like it's a fitting choice. It'll be one of the forty songs that will accompany Dirt 4's soundtrack upon the game's release.
Speaking of release, Dirt 4 has booked a North American release date of June 6th, 2017. The rest of the world will receive the game on June 9th. Dirt 4 will be available for PC, Xbox One and PS4.
Dirt 4 will come with 50 off-road ready vehicles at launch, including the Ford Fiesta R5, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI, Subaru WRX STI NR4 and Audi Sport quattro S1 E2. The game will feature rally locations across Australia, Spain, Michigan, Sweden, and Wales. Players will have access to the

Destiny 2 has been announced and rumors of a Call of Duty WW2 release in 2017 are circulating the internet.
The biggest news this week comes from the Bungie camp. Finally, after months of us knowing it was coming, Bungie has announced Destiny 2. The upcoming game is set to release later this year and should come to PS4, Xbox One and PC.
This time around, Bungie may have learned from their mistakes on their first release for the Destiny universe. So far, we have had a single Destiny reveal trailer, and it already showcases more character and liveliness than perhaps the entirety of the first Destiny game.
Fans that were disappointed about the lack of story and scale in the first Destiny title are definitely going to be excited about Destiny 2.
We've also heard rumors that the next Call of Duty game will be inspired by the events of WW2. After seeing EA's back-in-time success with Battlefield 1, it comes as no surprise that Activision may have ordered one of the

The Binding of Isaac was originally planned as a launch title for the Nintendo Switch, but after the company behind the title announced there would be delays, nobody quite knew when the game would make it to the new platform.
Fortunately, developer Nicalis has confirmed that the Binding of Isaac has now almost been completed and the game will make its way to the Nintendo Switch on March 17. The version of Binding of Isaac that'll make it to the Nintendo Switch is the Afterbirth+ version.
Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ on the Nintendo Switch will cost $40 and players will be able to pick it up in store as a physical copy, or from the Nintendo Switch interface as a digital title. Afterbirth originally launched on the PC in January 2017 as an expansion to the original game. The full Afterbirth+ version will offer the same content as the Binding of Isaac: Rebirth Complete Bundle, which is available on Steam for $35.
Afterbirth+ is also in development for the PlayStation

You can blame EA for this one. Mass Effect Andromeda will be receiving microtransactions.
The microtransactions in Mass Effect Andromeda will be included alongside the base price of the game and the season pass for the future DLC content. The microtransactions available will allow users to purchase 'Andromeda points' which is currently understood to be a currency that will be used in the multiplayer portion of Mass Effect Andromeda.
The description online retailers have been using for the Andromeda points packs is shown below.
"Andromeda Points are an in-game currency for the Mass Effect: Andromeda Multiplayer mode only. These points can be purchased with real world currency and can be used instead of the earned in-game currency to obtain new Multiplayer packs, which contain items used in the Multiplayer mode."
Unfortunately, we do not know what the multiplayer packs will include, or whether these packs will provide users with benefits or buffs. Hopefully, EA

Fighting games can be highly competitive titles. They're so competitive, in fact, that even the smallest of balancing changes can make or break a player's viability at high-level play. For this reason, the newly announced Injustice 2 gear system is a little scary.
Injustice 2 will be getting a gear system that players will be able to follow as a sense of progression while playing. All of the cosmetic choices available with the gear options are exciting, and players will have to work hard to get some of the rarer items. The scary part is that these gear items do offer players with inherent bonuses.
Firstly, players will be able to improve their favorite character's base stats simply by leveling up over time. That's right, players that play for longer will not only have a higher skill level, but they'll also have a distinct in-game advantage. Injustice 2 will also support a loop drop system that will allow players to earn loot from finishing and winning games. The loot rewarded

Mass Effect Andromeda is just around the corner and Bioware has been sharing content for the game like crazy. In the past couple of months we've had hours of gameplay footage uploaded to the Mass Effect Youtube channel, and now details about the multiplayer portion of Andromeda have been revealed.
So far we only have details we've managed to scrape from some Twitter images posted by Mass Effect producer Fernando Melo.
In Mass Effect Andromeda multiplayer, players will have access to a character selection screen before they get immersed in the action. As opposed to having characters from the main storyline, the characters will be different species and classes. For example, players will have the chance to play as a Human male vanguard or a Krogan female infiltrator. Each class and species will have their own unique abilities and traits. Health and shield values will be different across class and species too.
There won't be a truck load of customization options for multiplayer,

The Ghost Recon Wildlands open beta has started - players can already sign into Uplay, Steam, Xbox Live or PSN to install the open beta.
The beta should now be live for all users in regions across the world. Currently, the beta is live on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam. Currently, the beta download size is sitting at roughly 24GB for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. However, if you installed the previous PC beta you'll only need to download 19GB worth of data.
Either way, you may want to start downloading now - this will be your last chance to give Ghost Recon Wildlands a try for free before the game is officially released. The open beta will remain open until Monday the 27th, so you've still got lots of time to get the game download and get playing.
This time round, the open beta for Wildlands will have a total of two regions for exploring, as opposed to the full game's 21 different regions. The first region is Itacua, which was first seen in the previous beta period.

Halo Wars 2 is now available for Xbox One and Windows 10, across most regions. So far, critics have taken a liking to the real-time strategy game sequel, but the game isn't quite complete.
If you were a diehard Halo Wars fan, you'll know that a big part of the multiplayer aspect focused on the leaderboards and ranking system. Thousands of players would compete to be the very best, and this kind of competitive atmosphere helped to keep the Halo Wars name alive strong after the initial release date.
In Halo Wars 2 there isn't a competitive ranking system at launch, but it's for what we think is a good reason. David Nicholson, the executive producer at Creative Assembly, mentioned that they decided not to add competitive ranking at launch, "Because we want to make sure the balance is there. We think we've got the game well-balanced, with the two betas we had. But we continually make those balance changes. Our plan is to bring it out, but just not at launch."
This means
