Call of Dutys dominance in the first-person shooter category has relied heavily upon their annual releases of new titles. Last years Call of Duty: Black Ops left video game fans in awe of the advanced game play, and stunning additions made to the title. Black Ops has served as a reigning force in the video game universe, and one can expect that this years Call of Duty release will cause the same amount of fervor.

Modern Warfare 3s release date is set for November 8, 2011; a mere two days shy of last years Black Ops release. In celebration of Black Ops success, Jeep dedicated a special edition of the Wrangler to the Call of Duty franchise. Once again, Jeep has decided to celebrate Modern Warfare 3 with an updated version that features MW3 branding throughout the vehicle.

If you are planning on delving into the pending Battlefield 3 on your computer you will need to create an Origin account. Origin is Electronic Arts digital distributing application, and is the largest competitor for Steam, who it has been confirmed will not be offering Battlefield 3. This should not be a huge surprise for gamers, and personally the move by DICE and EA makes a lot of sense.

On June 24^thwe blogged about the possibilities of a Modern Warfare 3 survival mode, and since E3 the hype about this new mode has been brewing. Recently a game play video of MW3s survival mode has given us a whole new perception of its possibilities. The video is basically a walkthrough of all the options and perks associated with the survival mode. Ladies and Gentlemen, I am proud to say that it is going to be absolutely amazing; it is a whole new way to enjoy the weapons, perks, and game play of Modern Warfare games.

It is exactly as you would have imagined, with some twists here and there. Gears of War 3

The wait is almost over! Yes, thats right the Gears of War 3 launch date is almost here. The game is set to release September 20 of this year! So in about a month, most Gears fans will have no life outside of the game. For those who dont agree with that, then you mostly likely arent a true Gears fan…. Just kidding! That being said lets get down to some business.

I am having a hard time containing my excitement about Polish developer Flying Wild Hogs new game Hard Reset. With very little hype surrounding the game, and limited information it is hard to imagine that it is due to be released in September this year. Hard Reset is PC exclusive, and normally developers will pour at least a year of hype into new games before their release. The lack of community buzz, however, is not a comment on the games quality or superior development.

Currently there are a limited source of screenshots, one game play trailer, and one teaser trailer. Hard Reset is running a hard PR campaign that will only last the three months before its release in September.

Zombies mode for Call of Duty: Black Ops has seen a large series of updates during this year, and on August 23^rd the public gets the opportunity to download five more maps. I have been consistently playing Shangri La, and I still havent mastered the maps tricks and Easter eggs. This being said, I might have to put my efforts on the Shangri La map on hold for the new Rezurrection downloadable content package.

Rezurrection is a collection of the four original zombie maps from World at War, Nacht der Untoten. Verruckt. Shi No Numa. and Der Riese, plus an all new map called Moon. These remakes should be an excellent addition to Black Ops sterling record of zombie annihilation. I personally enjoyed the original zombie maps, and I cannot wait to see them updated and outfitted for Black Ops game play.

Hey gamers! So with the end of summer approaching we cant blame you if you are trying to squeeze in as many hours of game time as possible. School can really get in the way of prestige mode and accordingly you are trying to game as hard as you can before the inevitable beginning of school. I personally have been playing Ocarina of Time again with the impending start of the new semester (its a yearly tradition of mine).

So, I can understand the sentiment of non-stop gaming before homework and studying starts to eat up more time than the online gaming communities can. This being said, it is important to game hard but more important to game smart!

Nintendo 3DS price drops from $249 to $170.

When 3DS sales began to drop only a small bit of time after its release, Nintendo acted quick torebootthe public into purchasing its handheld system. Currently the 3DS is selling at nearly $250 but come August 12th, it will be slashed down to $169.99.

The newest installment to the coveted Battlefield series, Battlefield 3, will be released on October 25^th, 2011. The new game promises to bring an entirely new first-person shooter experience, and the information regarding the pending release only works to increase my excitement surrounding the game. As if the release of Battlefield 3 wasnt enough to get the gaming world excited, a paperback novel has only been planned to accompany the game.

Popular fiction/non-fiction author Andy Mcnab is writing Battlefield 3 and it will be released in November of this year. McNab is a former member of the British SAS, and took part in numerous special
