Kaz Hirai to be Officially the Next Head of Sony
As I have stated nearly a year ago, Kaz Hirai will become the next head of Sony. According to this article on Kotaku, it seems that it has been officially confirmed. Sony CEO Howard Stringer announced that his replacement as President and CEO of Sony Corporation will definitely be Kaz Hirai, when he steps down in June. They officially announced this move with Hirai's promotion in April (while Stringer will remain as executive chairman until his departure this Summer).

Despite all the predictions and speculations, Sony Computer Entertainment and Sony Corporation have come out and denied that the Playstation 4 will be unveiled at at this year's E3 in June. According to SCE's Andrew House (found here at this article on Kotaku) stated the following:
"I don't think we're contemplating talking about anything to do with future console iterations at this point."

You Cannot Get Rid of the PS2. It Will Continue to Go on in Sales
The Sega Dreamcast, the Nintendo Gamecube, that gaming console Apple released but no one bought, they all have gone the way of the dodo bird. No one is buying them except for video game collectors from second hand stores or booths at flea markets. However, one console is still being sold today and at a healthy number as well. Sony's Playstation 2 is still being sold well around the world. And while its numbers aren't as strong as its earlier days, it's enough to bring notice to everyone.

The 3DS Still Beats Out the Vita in Japan
Despite that it's not out here in the states, the PlayStation Vita is currently out in Japan. Its release was met with the usual kinds of enthusiasm and long lines. And it has met tons of favorable praise from the hordes of Sony faithful as well as local Japanese media outlets. However, when it comes to making comparisons with its competitor, Nintendo and its 3DS, that's a bit of a different story.
The sales numbers from the latest reports show that Nintendo still dominates the portable gaming console market, despite the huge sales of the Vita. According to some

Sony's Rapping Dog Sensation Could Return in the Near Future
From those of you who don't know, before my days of laser sword dominating on Haloand lancer ripping in Gears of War 3 on my Xbox 360, I used to be a huge Playstation gamer. I loved that system and its assortment of games. One of my favorite games was the Parappa the Rappa series. But after Parappa the Rappa 2 on the PS2, we rarely heard from the rappin' dog, save

Sony: Firmware Updates Will Not Be Troublesome in the Future
Currently, Sony's biggest problem is the way their consoles like the PSP updates their firmware. They're always often and they slow down or tie up the system which in result means that pick-up-and-play gaming sessions are halted by an essential firmware update.
This has been a problem Sony is looking to fix with the PlayStation Vita. Found here on Kotaku,Shuhei Yoshida (Head of Sony Computer Entertainment

Cultural Differences Prevented Rock Band from Being Huge in Japan
A while back, Rock Band came out of nowhere and exploded in popularity all over the United States, Europe, Australia, nearly everywhere....except for Japan. There must be a reason for why the Harmonix's biggest introduction to music-themed video games didn't make its way to the land of the rising sun.
According to this article on Kotaku, there are several reasons

PS Vita Games show up at Tokyo Game Show, Shape Looks Oddly Familiar
At the Tokyo Game Show, companies like Sony and Nintendo are displaying their latest games and soon-t0-be-released consoles. One of the most interesting things coming out of TGS is the Playstation Vita. Now, when it comes to portable handheld consoles, I'm a Nintendo fanboy (despite I own the first generation DS that's the size of a brick and sometimes I am skeptic of buying a 3DS). But when the images of Sony's booth at the show were shown on the internet, I noticed something about the
