Sony-owned studio SIE San Diego Studios has released the reveal trailer for MLB The Show 20 this week, showing that the upcoming game may have a new focus on defensive play.
The game is the last iteration of the game that will be exclusive to the PlayStation platform, as the game will be coming to other platforms like Xbox and PC due to pressure from MLB on Sony. This new game looks fantastic and shows off even more detail on players and stadiums than ever before.
MLB The Show 20 will be launched on March 17th, which coincides with Spring Training but comes just before the start of the regular season. The game’s cover athlete this year is Chicago Cub Javier Baez, and he’ll be on the standard edition’s cover. New additions to the legends roster of players are also incoming, with the likes of Gary Sheffield, David Ortiz, and Mariano Rivera all playable within the game.

For the second consecutive year, it appears that Sony will skip E3, dealing another blow to a conference that many are seeing as obsolete.
The E3 expo has previously been used to showcase new game announcements for the upcoming year, with the likes of EA, Xbox, Bethesda, and Sony taking part in putting together shows that are equal parts spectacle and hype. Last year Sony announced that they were skipping E3, as they didn’t have any major announcements to make at the show. This year, it appears that Sony is saving their announcements for their own event. The company had previously held PlayStation Experience for fans, and it’s a possibility that this could come back to hype the upcoming PS5 console.
We don’t have firm details on just what Sony is planning to showcase the system, but we’re expecting it to see it launch to the world in the last quarter of this year. The console is highly-anticipated, seeing as how the

Although it’s drawing to the end of its lifespan, Sony’s PlayStation 4 console is continuing to chug along, becoming the second-best-selling console of all-time.
Sony announced at CES 2020 that the PS4 has sold more than 106 million units, beating out the likes of the original PlayStation and the Nintendo Wii, Nintendo Entertainment System, and Xbox 360. This is impressive when you consider the home console space, although we should note that if handheld sales are taken into account, the PS4 would be the fourth-best selling console of all-time.
In terms of the home console space, the PS4 sits behind only the PlayStation 2, which moved more than 155 million units. The 106 million figure will continue to grow as well, as sales of the PS4 will likely continue for the next few years. The console will also see major new releases this year, with the launch of The Last of Us 2, Ghost of Tsushima, and Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

Sony’s PlayStation 5 console is going to be released within the next year, and a leak of the company’s DualShock 5 patent has come out, showing a beefier version of the controller that’s proved so popular this generation.
The controller sketch shows a bit of a bulkier shell design to the controller, with the included speaker and touchpad from this gen making the jump over. The button layout looks to be identical to the DualShock 4, including having the analog thumbsticks directly across from each other, rather than having them offset as we see in the Xbox controller.
A nice new feature will be USB-C charging, which will be built into the new port. Sony has already shared that the controller’s L2 and R2 buttons will have adaptive triggers, which will let developers change the resistance needed to trigger action. Haptic feedback will also be built into the controller, providing more precise rumble for players to feel.

Last week Sony announced details on their upcoming PS5 console, including giving details on the DualShock 5 controller.
Sony revealed that the console will launch during the holiday 2020 period, bringing with it a slew of new features, and of course, a new PlayStation 5 controller that’ll be packed with new features.
The console will support digital games, but will also bring a 4K UHD Blu-Ray drive, which will support 100 GB discs. This will allow for games to be loaded to the hard drive for those who don’t want to use their data limits on the internet. There will also be an SSD included, and load times are said to be nearly instantaneous. Sony is also promising ray tracing technology, which is built into the hardware, rather than using a software trick to pull off the feat. This is something seen in higher-end PCs and will work with a CPU based on the AMD Ryzen line.
The new PS5 controller is also getting a bit of an overhaul. The setup is said to look similar to the

Sony has been holding out on crossplay between consoles for the entire generation, but it appears that the feature is finally coming to games designed for the console.
The company had been working on a beta test for the feature with certain games (ie. Fortnite) testing the service out. Crossplay will let a player on Xbox One or a Nintendo Switch or PC play with gamers on PS4, cutting out the necessity of making everyone have the same console to play on.
Players have been clamoring for crossplay for a long time, but it has been out of reach because the console manufacturers have been unable to come to an agreement on how it should work. In the previous generation, Sony was reportedly pushing for the feature, but Microsoft (dominant during the PS3 and Xbox 360 generation) turned them down. During this generation, Sony has been reluctant to add the feature, and they’ve largely been dominant, selling more than 100 million PS4 consoles.
Moving forward, players who want to

An exclusive multiplayer mode in the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game will be exclusive for PS4 for nearly a year.
The Survival Mode will be exclusive to the console until October 1st, 2020, as it falls under the guise of the Spec Ops mode that can be played in either solo mode or co-op. The exclusivity is a big get for the PlayStation brand, and the company was sure to tease the mode during their State of Play event on September 24th.
Call of Duty is hotly anticipated, and players will be wise to get their hands on a good controller in order to have the edge when it comes to multiplayer play. At Evil Controllers we have custom controllers that can be completely customized. You can add in shift paddles, adjustable thumbstick tension, tactile D-pads, tactile triggers, mods, custom colors, and more. Our mods start at just $69.95 and go up from there.
There have been multiple beta tests that have been conducted for the game over

This week a major wave was made in the video game industry as Sony purchased Insomniac Games, tying up the major second-party developer for any future releases.
Sony and Insomniac have been tied together strongly in the past, as the company designed and released the Ratchet and Clank and Resistance series for the PlayStation brand. The groups did break away a bit earlier this decade, as Insomniac released the zombie blasting game Sunset Overdrive exclusively for the Xbox One. The two didn’t stay separated though, as Insomniac developed Marvel’s Spider-Man for the PS4 in 2018. That game proved to be a huge hit, having sold more than 13.2 million copies as of press time.
Speaking about the agreement Insomniac’s CEO Ted Price wrote: "Today we announced that Insomniac has a new home. It feels more like a homecoming though. We've collaborated with Sony for more than 20 years--spanning all four PlayStation consoles, 20 total games, and six franchises. We still work closely today

This past week gaming giants Microsoft and Sony announced that they’re coming together to work on “new innovations to enhance customer experiences.” The agreement is leading to speculation that the two groups will be developing some form of cross-play solution for the next generation of game consoles.
The two groups released a joint press release where they announced that the two standoffish companies will indeed be coming together, at least in a limited capacity. The press release reads: “Under the memorandum of understanding signed by the parties, the two companies will explore joint development of future cloud solutions in Microsoft Azure to support their respective game and content-streaming services.
“In addition, the two companies will explore the use of current Microsoft Azure datacenter-based solutions for Sony’s game and content-streaming services. By working together, the companies aim to deliver more enhanced entertainment experiences for their worldwide customers.

With October starting, Sony has announced their free PS Plus games for the month. As Halloween will be taking part later this month, Sony has thrown in Friday the 13th to kick things off, alongside a number of other titles.
As mentioned before, Friday the 13th is easily the highlight of this month's free PS4 games. In Friday the 13th, one player gets to play as Jason Voorhees, while up to six other players must play as teen counselors.
The counselors must attempt to escape their location, while Jason gets to use a variety of tools and abilities to track them down.
The counselor players must communicate and work together to prepare a plan to escape. Playing as the counselors gives you a sense of panic and tension, while playing Voorhees is just as exciting, but for completely different reasons.
After that, we have Laser League. This is a fun multiplayer game that tests your reflexes and critical thinking. Laser League is very easy to pick up, but it takes lots
