CEO Bobby Kotick claimed earlier in 2010 that Call of Duty is a networking phenomenon as it is a video gaming one. Activision decided to back that up by posting the numbers that proved so...and showed that they also surpassed Facebook's numbers. With more than 20 million users on COD: Black Ops, the game and its players have logged more than 600 million hours between its release and December 24th, 2010. Computing that, it means the average player has played around 87 minutes per day, while Facebook's per-day average usage amongst its people is 55 minutes per day.

As read here:(the story of the real life frogger), a man in Clemson, South Carolina thought it was a good idea at the time to play a real life version of Frogger. He was wrong...but at least he came out alive.

The local authorities say that the man was playing the real life game in the late evening and had arrived at the hospital around 9 p.m. after he was struck by an SUV (this is where you'd insert the sound effect) while trying to cross the road. According to Chief Jimmy Dixon of Clemson, the 23-year-old-frogger-man said that he was discussing the entire event with his friends earlier in the day.

2011 might be Gears of War's best year. A few months back Microsoft and Epic mentioned publicly that Gears of War 3 had been delayed, not out of necessity, but for marketing reasons. Microsoft wanted to give Gears of War 3 the Fall season of 2011 to push the franchise forward as well as to give the game additional time in the oven. Frustrating as it was for fans of Gears of War, it was also kind of nice to know that Microsoft was behind Epic's flagship series in a way that should ensure an incredibly polished title. Nintendo Latest Sports Game with Mario

Recently Nintendo of American gave confirmation of a release date for the upcoming Mario Sports Mix. The newest addition to the Mario sports games series will officially hit stores in the United States on February 7, 2011.

The game, created by Square Enix, will be available for the Nintendo Wii. It will feature games for up to four players in volleyball, hockey, dodgeball, and basketball. It will accommodate up to four players on one Wii, or up to two players can join online. Each game will include the ever-present power ups such as banana peels and green shells, and each character will also have their own special move to aid in gameplay. Different venues in the game will also provide for different experiences.

Apparently, players will be able to utilized famed Nintendo characters such as Mario, Luigi, Wario and friends, or their customized Mii characters. Other Mario friends will join the game, who have yet to be announced, but

When Gears of War 3 got pushed back, most of the office was pretty bummed out about it, but we're excited to hear that the game Bulletstorm will include early access to the Gears of War 3 Beta. EA and Epic Games have announced that the Epic Edition, of Bulletstorm will include the beta access as well as a 25,000 EXP bonus and some multiplayer visual upgrades.

Aesthetically, Bulletstorm looks awesome. The color palette shown throughout the trailers doesn't show a gritty looking shooter with dull browns and grays nor cartoon like greens and purples, but has it's own unique look that confidently displays a sci-fi looking world with fluorescent blues and orange. Bulletstorm's unique and untested look could be why the Gears of War 3 beta is being included.

Ever play TF2 and notice how every Scout spams the voice command "NEED A SENTRY HERE" over and over and over till an Engineer (most likely me) gives in and builds a sentry? Well apparently I guess there's an annoying Scout at Valve's HQ and I guess the programmers there decided to give in like I do. Only thing is, their sentry is real (well except for the shooting bullets part).

Actually the team behind Team Fortress 2 got to visit Weta Workshop (the same people who did animatronic work for the Lord of the Rings movies and the upcoming The Hobbit movie) a while back and made a request to make a Level 1 sentry for their home office. Well it just arrived recently and Weta went the whole nine yards. The sentry (which took several men to deploy and move) has a state-of-the-art motion detection camera and will "fire" on those in its paths.
