Although all of the hype is one Battlefield 1 right now, DICE has recently started to release some of their previous DLC for Battlefield 4 as free content. Plenty of DLC packs are now readily available to 'purchase' for free from the Sony, Xbox and PC Marketplaces from any web browser.
The latest Battlefield 4 DLC pack to go free is the Navy Strike DLC. This pack includes a total of four new multiplayer maps, five weapons unseen by players that do not own the DLC pack, as well as two gadgets and a new hovercraft vehicle that can be used on water and land. As you can imagine, there is quite a lot of water on the Navy Strike maps.
The Carrier Assault mode is also exclusive to Navy Strike DLC owners, but now that it is available to download for free, everybody will be able to play the game mode. Usually the Navy Strike DLC cost $15 so if you'd like to gain access to it whilst it's free, you should sign into the PSN marketplace, the Xbox Games Store or the Origin PC app to claim

Blizzard has been constantly making improvements to the new competitive mode in Overwatch and in recent news it has been revealed that the developer will be changing the way players can pick characters in the new game mode.
In a future update, players will no longer be able to choose a character if another player on their team has already picked that character. This will stop players from creating teams filled with certain characters and it helps to smooth out and progress the meta of the game.
This rule will only apply to competitive mode so this means players can still create crazy team compositions in casual modes if they'd like to.
You may also be excited to hear that D.Va and Zenyatta will soon be getting much needed buffs. "There's been a lot of talk in the community about how D.Va and Zenyatta felt a little bit underpowered, so we're making changes to them. Zenyatta is getting a little more shields, and he goes a lot faster when he uses his Ultimate.

Surprise, surprise. After the lack of success from the Team Solomid COD roster at the CDL Stage 2 playoffs, Team Solomid has now dropped their COD roster completely.
Earlier in the year Team Rush was acquired by Team Solomid, but it's clear that it didn't take the organization long to realize that this may not be the team they need. Despite the short stay with the roster, Team Solomid made sure to release a statement long enough to explain their decisions for the move.
Team Solomid saw Team Rush as a potential dark horse, especially after coming 8th place in Stage 1 and putting up a good fight against Team Optic, but it seems that their recent poor performance is the key reason for the organization's choice to drop the roster. In the statement, Team Solomid mentioned, "Unfortunately, they were unable to consistently maintain that level of play, and it is a great shame that the team finished near the bottom of the rankings in the World League Stage 2. For this reason, we will

Hundred Thieves has now dropped their latest COD roster. Whilst the organization remains dedicated to the scene, it looks like they're hoping to find better luck with new opportunities in the near future.
A lot has happened within the Hundred Thieves org to suggest why the roster drop is now happening, but the real reason hasn't been specifically mentioned by either the organization itself or the organization owners.
In the past Hundred Thieves had quite a poor performance at CWL so it could be possible that the organization is looking for a stronger roster of players that can help them reach higher heights within the competitive scene. The only announcement for the roster release was posted on the Hundred Thieves Twitter and it stated the following:
"With Season 2 wrapped up, we've decided to release our Call of Duty roster. Thank you for your support, we'll be back stronger than ever."
Whilst it's admittedly disappointing to see the roster say goodbye to the

After what felt like an unending schedule of free Halo 5 content, it's been announced that the monthly content drops for Halo 5: Guardians will now stop. Whilst this was the original plan announced by 343 Industries in the beginning, it's almost a shock to think that’s almost been a year since the game launched.
Since the release of Halo 5: Guardians, there have been eight big content drops, all of which added plenty of new cosmetics, new maps, new items and in some cases even new Warzone modes or AI enemies.
Now that the monthly content drops have stopped, 343 Industries want to make it clear that support for the game won't stop. In fact, some new content is still planned for the near future, even if it isn't going to be as substantial content releases. It's likely that the 343 team are now moving most of their resources to the next Halo title.
343 Industries recently mentioned that, "While you won't be seeing updates every month moving forward, nor updates the size

A new character has been introduced to Overwatch and from what we've seen so far, it's something worth getting excited for. Ana Amari is the new Overwatch character and she has weapons to provide long range support for her team.
Ana Amari's primary weapon is a Biotic Rifle. This rifle fires darts that can both deal damage to enemies and heal her teammates. It's clear that her marksman skills have been refined so that she can provide support from a distance, as opposed to getting up close and personal. Because of this, it's expected that she'll have quite limited defense.
In a similar vein to her primary weapon, Ana Amari carries Biotic Grenades that can put up an area of effect that can both heal allies and take healing potential away from enemies. Her sidearm on the other hand shoots Sleep Darts that can bring down enemies temporarily, although this won't kill them. Ana Amari's ultimate is Nano Boost - this is a support ultimate that will give all teammates increased damage,

It's finally happened. Red Dead Redemption is now available on the Xbox One via the backwards compatibility program. If you own an Xbox 360 version of Red Dead Redemption you'll now be able to play it on your Xbox One.
If you don't own it, you'll be able to purchase the Xbox 360 version digitally or alternatively you could pick up a cheap second hand physical copy online or at a local retailer. Surprisingly the Red Dead digital version is under $10 so either way you'll be able to get the game on your Xbox One for cheap.
Not only has Red Dead Redemption been added to the backwards compatibility version, but the previous DLC for the game has been released for free. Not all of the DLC content has been put up for free, but the vast majority of it has. This includes some single player content and all of the multiplayer content. The new free DLC includes the Legends and Killers Pack, the Myths and Mavericks Pack and the Liars and Cheats Pack. The Outlaws to the End co-op mission

A new eSports streaming platform like Twitch has been announced by two Counter Strike veterans that could potentially change the way we all watch eSports matches online. Traditionally, eSports fans will need to visit Twitch to watch a game live, but with the new platform, named Znipe, fans may have the option to watch an eSports match the way they'd like to.
With Znipe, viewers are given the option to view multiple stream sources at once. However, these multiple sources will usually come from one match.
Take this as an example - viewers on Znipe will be able to set up their own personal overlay, which could include a few POV streams of their favorite players, a stream that shows the view the commentators are seeing and additional widgets for the map or the radar. With this amount of control, players will be able to have their own interactive viewing experience. To really work, Znipe will need the support of tournament hosts to set up multiple streams and POVs for the viewers

In a recent update, a glitch was found in Halo 5: Guardians that allowed players to have a whole world of new fun with custom weapons in Forge.
The glitch in question essentially allows players to assign weapon effect, damage and fire rate to another weapon model by using the REQ pads. Not only did this glitch apply to Forge games, but the glitch carried out into custom games too.
As an example, a player could place down a weapon pad and set it so that it spawns a REQ weapon. A player could then edit the item properties to change the weapon model. The end result allowed players to have SMGs that fired sniper bullets, plasma pistols that fired spartan lasers and all sorts of other things. Plenty of crazy combinations are possible with this glitch, and like mentioned before, this glitch does allow players to set up some incredibly fun custom games.
Perhaps the most exciting bit of news to come from this all is that Tom French has confirmed that the glitch will be staying
