Hey there guys! God of War Game Director, Todd Papy, posted again on the Official Playstaion Blog just a couple of weeks back. This time around he emphasized the highly anticipated multiplayer mode of GOW Ascension which is going to be a first for series.
Knowing Santa Monica's track record it is really hard not to get excited. This excitement must come as a heavy burden to Santa Monica Studios who know well enough the high expectations fans have from them. If this multiplayer mode is even slightly sub-par, the backlash from fans could be horrible. I guess this is why I feel a bit reassured from Todd's description of the mode as "a multiplayer experience we are confident will be worthy of the title, God of War."
The main point that Todd wanted to get across was that they will be launching the beta for the multiplayer. As Todd explains, "I'm excited to announce today that we will be launching a global multiplayer beta in the near future, available exclusively first to PlayStation

Dead Island Riptide, a direct sequel to Techland's hit zombie survival game Dead Island, was announced by publisher Deep Silver quite some time ago at this year's E3. Since that initial reveal there was nothing else mentioned in the coming months except that it would cost $50.
But now it seems that Deep Silver is ready to slowly reveal some of the details surrounding the game. Just a few days ago Deep Silver released a press release that gave a bit of the story of the next iteration. The following is an excerpt from the press release:
"Having survived the ordeals of the zombie infestation on the once beautiful island resort of Banoi, our group of survivors thought they had finally found a safe place to escape from this terrifying nightmare, [but] they were wrong. Shortly after the battle-hardened team had landed their helicopter on a military ship, a furious storm hits and havoc quickly spreads on board. Suddenly they find themselves struggling for their lives again with all

In all honesty no one was really expecting a fourth game in the God of War series, let alone this soon. Not that I am complaining, quite the contrary actually. Although I have to say that I was not as excited when I heard about the initial reveal. I just couldn’t see how Santa Monica studios planned to make this iteration even better than GOW 3.
But as we all know now, their secret weapon this time around was the brand new multiplayer mode. There is plenty of gameplay footage available now and initial impressions of it make it seem both fun and addictive. Pulling off brutal combos on human players looked amazingly satisfying and could potentially top the fun we had killing off the Olympian roster in the previous game.
If you are a huge fan of the game like me then there is a big chance you want to get something more than just the standard retail copy of the game. If so then you should definitely check out the Collector's Edition and Special Edition which had been revealed

Developers Techland have had a good collection of games in their portfolio but one of their recent ones, Dead Island, seems to be their crowning glory. The reveal trailer for the game which was gory, emotional and artsy at the same time really got the attention of gamers. Even though Dead Island was not a perfect creation, this zombie killing RPG with beautifully scary environments and online co-op traits was both insanely fun and addictive.

Since the release of Dead Island Techland seems to be keeping quite busy. Only recently they announced the release of a direct sequel to Dead Island, called Dead Island Riptide. The game is in pre-alpha mode and according to inside sources it already looks MUCH better than the predecessor! As you know pre-alpha mode normally looks really horrible so this is a very promising bit of detail.
But we are not here to

Cloud gaming is a thing of the future. Developers and publishers alike widely accept this fact to be the truth. Even the rumors surrounding the next-gen consoles, PS4 and Xbox 720, suggest that they will be featuring similar cloud gaming services and that physical media is at the end of its life cycle.
Whether physical media has become obsolete or not is still left to be determined as I (amongst many others) would still prefer to have an actual copy of the game instead of just the digital version. I believe those without access super fast internet (if any) who share my sentiment.
Regardless of these minute details one thing is for sure, cloud gaming is definitely the future. Just recently Sony has acquired the cloud gaming service Gaikai for a lump sum of $380 million. SCE boss Andrew House mentioned that with this union will allow Sony to bring "unparalleled cloud entertainment experiences."
But it seems that a totally unexpected and quite revolutionary console will

New Xbox Rumor
Well it's about time isn't it? For Microsoft to reveal SOMETHING about the next gen Xbox right?
It seems that one of their employees thought we deserved to know more and thanks to him we get to hear the very first actual reference towards the new Xbox. In an interview with The Verge, Brian Hall (General Manager of Windows Live) literally mentioned that the "new Xbox" when listing the wide range of Microsoft products that could be incorporated with Windows 8.
This is what Hall said during his interview, "We've had Hotmail and operated Hotmail for about 16 years. We obviously have Exchange, and Outlook, that people use at work. We just decided

Call of Duty Perk Programme
With all that is happening in the US regarding Call of Duty I guess UK didn't want to feel left out. UK's GAME recently announced their "Call of Duty Perk Programme". Basically this program will be giving off goodies to die hard CoD fans who will be pre-ordering the game.
The first wave will be receiving a Quadrotor theme for PS3 owners or a Quadrotor drone avatar for Xbox 360 owners. These bonuses could be one of the last waves for those who pre-order it from GameStop.
For now though, Nuketown 2025 and a double-sided poster have been revealed as the first two waves of pre-order bonuses for those who pre-order from GameStop.
