The Call of Duty World Championship took place earlier this month and it saw Team EnVyUs play against Splyce in a tense battle. Despite Splyce's recent jump up the leaderboards, their recent good performances just weren't good enough for the almighty EnVyUs. The EnVy team took the win in an impressive 3-1 scoreline.
In the first map, EnVyuS and Splyce were playing against each other in a game of Hardpoint. To begin with EnVyUs was performing well, and it was clear right out of the gate that Splyce had a tough cookie to crack. Despite the great initial performance from EnVyUs, Splyce took the first map with a 250-196 score.
Unfortunately the celebrations for Splyce ended here. The next map was search and destroy, and all the searching was left for Splyce to do, because Team EnVyUs absolutely destroyed Splyce with a 6-2 score.
Splyce weren't ready to give up just yet though - EnVyUs struggled to get a good grip on the early and mid game of map 3, which was Uplink. Unfortunately,

Have you been playing much Overwatch recently? You may want to get back in game soon because the Eichenwalde map will be pushed to live servers soon. At the moment the map is planned for a PTR release, along with other changes. The PTR stands for public test realm and it features a number of features in Overwatch that players can test to help with development before they are pushed to live servers.
The PTR versions can sometimes have bugs or glitches but it's a great way for players to experience new content before it's officially released. Currently the PTR for Overwatch is only available on the PC, but with the latest addition of the Eichenwalde map on the PTR, we can get a glimpse of what the newest map will be like on all platforms.
Eichenwalde is based upon a small German town in Stuttgart. The town is abandoned and a lot of the buildings have taken considerable battle damage. Despite the serious damage to the town, the place is undeniably pretty and we cannot wait to

Duck is one of the most legendary Smash Bros players the world has ever seen, but sometimes things happen that lead the organizations to say goodbye to some of their best opportunities.
Duck was only on the Melee On it Me team for just two weeks before he got dropped. Whilst we're unsure why things happened so quickly, it seems that Duck may now be looking for new options elsewhere.
So far we only have a very small statement on Twitter to go by. The statement comes straight from Melee On it Me and it reads, "It's the shortest tenure, but we will release @ssbDuck today. We wish him the best of luck. Full announcement later this week."
Whilst it's easy to speculate at this point, it'd be better to wait out for a longer statement so that we can get a proper understanding of the situation. Duck has managed to bag some great results this year so we're shocked to see him dropped from the Melee On it Me team.
So far this year Duck has taken a win at Combo Breaker 2016,

Optic has made their way to another Call of Duty grand final event, this time at MLG Orlando against EnVyUs. Because EnVyUs came from the lower bracket, they had to win two best of five series to take the championship win, whilst Optic only needed to take one series win.In the first series, things were very neck and neck. The first game saw EnVyUs and Optic battle it out on Breach Hardpoint. Things were very close but EnVyUs managed to bag 250 points whilst Optic was just a little behind with 231 points.
The second match of series 1 was Hunted Search and Destroy. Optic managed to take 4 rounds, but EnVyUs took 6 rounds, giving them another win for that series. EnVyUs was doing well in the event so far, but they had a long time ahead.
Unfortunately for EnVyUs, Optic started to pick up their game after match 3. The third match was Evac Uplink and Optic took the win with a 14-9 scoreline. Match 4 was Stronghold Capture the Flag and once again Optic took an impressive

Whilst this may not be big news to all of you, we think it's a story worth commenting on. Recently TBS started an e-sports exclusive tournament called ELEAGUE. During its first season the tournament was for the PC title Counter Strike: Global Offensive.
The finals recently took place and Virus Pro managed to take the crown from Fnatic to become the first ELEAGUE champions. There are a few reasons why this story is so huge.
To begin with, this is the first time in a long time that an esports tournament has been specifically broadcasted on an American TV channel. The e-sports league was also put on in between other sports events.
The tournament also boasted an absolutely gigantic prize pool. $1.4 million was paid out to 24 different teams. At the top, Virtus Pro received a gigantic $390,000 prize.
The interesting thing is that Virtus Pro has been in a slump of sorts for quite some time. On the other hand, Fnatic was considered the team to beat for a very long time.

The Big House 6 has recently confirmed that they will be running Japanese qualifier events for Super Smash Bros. Wii U. After the qualifier events for Smash Wii U, another event, the Master Hand qualifier, will follow for Melee on August 28.
Whilst the qualifier events aren't the biggest news to hit the Smash scene, it is important to know that these qualifiers will help players make their way into the main event for The Big House 6 which will be happening in Dearborn, Michigan.
This event will be happening from October 7 to October 9 and it will hopefully include around 500-1,000 entrants. If you're interested in the tournament you can register at umsmash.com. Last year the event saw over 500 entrants battle their way out. Expectedly a number of familiar faces made their way to the finals. Last year we saw ZeRo take the crown.
The payout will depend entirely on how many entrants make their way to Big House 6 but in most cases 40% of the payout will be paid to the first

Blizzard has been constantly making improvements to the new competitive mode in Overwatch and in recent news it has been revealed that the developer will be changing the way players can pick characters in the new game mode.
In a future update, players will no longer be able to choose a character if another player on their team has already picked that character. This will stop players from creating teams filled with certain characters and it helps to smooth out and progress the meta of the game.
This rule will only apply to competitive mode so this means players can still create crazy team compositions in casual modes if they'd like to.
You may also be excited to hear that D.Va and Zenyatta will soon be getting much needed buffs. "There's been a lot of talk in the community about how D.Va and Zenyatta felt a little bit underpowered, so we're making changes to them. Zenyatta is getting a little more shields, and he goes a lot faster when he uses his Ultimate.
"D.Va's

Surprise, surprise. After the lack of success from the Team Solomid COD roster at the CDL Stage 2 playoffs, Team Solomid has now dropped their COD roster completely.
Earlier in the year Team Rush was acquired by Team Solomid, but it's clear that it didn't take the organization long to realize that this may not be the team they need. Despite the short stay with the roster, Team Solomid made sure to release a statement long enough to explain their decisions for the move.
Team Solomid saw Team Rush as a potential dark horse, especially after coming 8th place in Stage 1 and putting up a good fight against Team Optic, but it seems that their recent poor performance is the key reason for the organization's choice to drop the roster. In the statement, Team Solomid mentioned, "Unfortunately, they were unable to consistently maintain that level of play, and it is a great shame that the team finished near the bottom of the rankings in the World League Stage 2. For this reason, we will

Hundred Thieves has now dropped their latest COD roster. Whilst the organization remains dedicated to the scene, it looks like they're hoping to find better luck with new opportunities in the near future.
A lot has happened within the Hundred Thieves org to suggest why the roster drop is now happening, but the real reason hasn't been specifically mentioned by either the organization itself or the organization owners.
In the past Hundred Thieves had quite a poor performance at CWL so it could be possible that the organization is looking for a stronger roster of players that can help them reach higher heights within the competitive scene. The only announcement for the roster release was posted on the Hundred Thieves Twitter and it stated the following:
"With Season 2 wrapped up, we've decided to release our Call of Duty roster. Thank you for your support, we'll be back stronger than ever."
Whilst it's admittedly disappointing to see the roster say goodbye to the

A new character has been introduced to Overwatch and from what we've seen so far, it's something worth getting excited for. Ana Amari is the new Overwatch character and she has weapons to provide long range support for her team.
Ana Amari's primary weapon is a Biotic Rifle. This rifle fires darts that can both deal damage to enemies and heal her teammates. It's clear that her marksman skills have been refined so that she can provide support from a distance, as opposed to getting up close and personal. Because of this, it's expected that she'll have quite limited defense.
In a similar vein to her primary weapon, Ana Amari carries Biotic Grenades that can put up an area of effect that can both heal allies and take healing potential away from enemies. Her sidearm on the other hand shoots Sleep Darts that can bring down enemies temporarily, although this won't kill them. Ana Amari's ultimate is Nano Boost - this is a support ultimate that will give all teammates increased damage,
